(FILM) This bleak portrait of Townes Van Zandt, a damaged folk troubadour appreciated more in death than in life, skips nothing—the shock treatments, the alcohol addiction, the general fucked-up shit. But the film also touches on Van Zandt's ardent followers, from Willie Nelson and Emmylou Harris to Kris Kristofferson, to create a touching, well-rounded portrait of this lost talent.
