The two members of Two Gallants play punk-folk blues and radiate a dark charisma. The drummer's hair hangs over his face until he surfaces for call-and-response lyrics with the guitarist, who sings with the gloominess and ferocity of an offshore storm. They can whip a room into a frenzy—they were once attacked mid-concert by Houston police—and write elegant, curlicue lyrics: "I followed you into the party/That no one invited me to/But I turned toward the wall 'fore it started/To diswatch the mistreat of you."
