Further warning for anyone going to see this... it's no longer playing anywhere, so you will not be going to see this.
SIFF Cinema needs to decide whether it's going to play the same middlebrow movies as everywhere else, load its calendar with gimmicky quote-along crap, or book interesting films and actually hold them long enough for people to see them. Because their attempt to do all three is failing.
I am sooo obsessed with the 2009 version starring Tom Hardy as Heathcliff I don't think I can be swayed by another. I'll still go see this—I watch every single one of these 19th-century English novels-to-film adaptations—but judging by the trailer, this new Heathcliff looks like a namby-pamby, sensitive, sweetie-pie. Ugh!
As a related aside, Kate Bush's 'Wuthering Heights' is the best song about a novel EVER. (Pat Benatar's cover is also totally awesome.)
