Once again...as much as I like them, and as little as they tour...they are not a $50 per ticket band. Not on their own.

Love the band. HATE HATE the venue and ticket system.

I'll just listen to my CDs of Portishead tonight with some lit candles instead.

Big mistake, @2. The was felt great, sounded great. Just steamrolled over the venue's drawbacks.

And the sole nice thing about a G.A. show in a huge place is that you didn't have any "ticket system" to deal with. There were plenty of tickets at the door. No service charges. Not even a day-of-show price hike. What a weird reason to skip an excellent show.

@1, Just how many times over have you wasted $50 on crappy booze in the 14 years since they last toured?

That show was completely worth the ticket price. So much so, I bought the ticket for it on Saturday, after having seen them the night before in Berkeley. And the only hassle I had with the tickets was all the account creation and password verification on the website during the purchase. Other than that, the GA system worked great. If you didn't go, you really missed out. I hope they tour again at some point in the next 20 years.

Definitely a bargain. All the stadium presence and precision of delivery of latter day Pink Floyd, with none of the ego and drama. Better material too, and Beth sure delivered - like an Indian Princess crooning at the bottom of the sea. Little Mermaid, eat your flippin heart out!! Bam!

Holy crap did A LOT of people make it out to this show. I was lucky and got in line around 5:30pm so getting a spot right in front was easy and absolutely worth the wait. They sound immaculate Live, I was blown away at the sound/venue being much more solid then I had expected. Big Baby Jeebus, was it packed though! I didn't even see one seat open when I looked back from up front standing.

Please wait...
