The most dreaded words in Seattle theatre ought to be "World Premiere." Pullman Porter Blues is a prime example of why. The Seattle Rep's production values are as high as we have come to expect, but they cannot rescue this dog. Stereotypes, simplistic script, way too many story threads, and a very promising subject wasted. What a disservice to the men who worked the passenger trains of a racist, segregated America. The subject cries out for serious treatement; it doesn't get it here. Save your money.
