TUESDAY
1. Cumming Up Roses
TBD Burlesque presents this spring-themed evening of comedic and improvised burlesque stories that is said to appeal to a variety of people: "theatre nerds, trivia geeks, burlesque lovers, comedy enthusiasts, people who are looking for 'not normal' theatre, gardeners, and horticulturists alike."

2. Breez Talent Show
For a promising iteration of Seattle’s ever-present open-mic scene, it would behoove you to seek out this “talent show” at anything-goes/everything’s-great Capitol Hill holdout Chop Suey. MCed by Tricky Vicky, the evening promises a loose and entertaining collection of Broadway oddballs and the extended musical family Bree McKenna (Tacocat/Childbirth bassist, occasional Stranger contributor, and this event's namesake) and crew have cobbled together over years in the scene.

3. Crunk Witch and Shubzilla
"Bass-heavy nerd pop" outfit Crunk Witch are trying to revive chiptunes with their electronic ditties, and they're not doing a half-bad job of it.

4. The Juliet Project
Through an original 30-minute performance of movement and song, The Juliet Project will bring to life some of the countless letters of heartache and unrequited love that have been written to the protagonist of Romeo and Juliet. Before and after the show, you can also write and submit your own letters to Juliet.

5. Laughing Buddha 20th Anniversary Party
In honor of the tattoo and body piercing shop's 20th anniversary, there will be giveaways, door prizes, and burlesque from Miss Kitty Baby.

6. Urban Naturalist Series: Cowed
Denis Hayes and Gail Boyer Hayes, authors of the book Cowed: The Hidden Impact of 93 Million Cows on America's Health, Economy, Politics, Culture, and Environment, will discuss the historical relationship between humans and cows.

WEDNESDAY
7. Convergence Series: Scuttlebutt Brewing Company
Once a month, Watershed Pub & Kitchen pairs beer from a local brewery—some well-known and others yet-to-be-discovered—with a special menu from their chefs. Tonight will feature Scuttlebutt Brewing, and, as a fundraiser for KEXP's new home, there will be a DJ on hand.

8. Cues & Tattoos
Cues and Tattoos is a weekend-long festival of tribal belly dance, featuring guests from around the world in a series of workshops and performances.

9. Duran Duran Party
Hosted by Andy "Durandy" Golub (Duran Duran archivist, blogger, and general superfan) hosts this Duran Duran party, featuring DJ Scott Kathan spinning tunes from their entire repertoire, videos playing on the big screen, and drink specials and decorations.

10. Help! I'm Going Vegan Workshop
Come to the University of Washington to figure out what to eat after the transition and ask all your pressing questions about going vegan.

11. Nowhere
Brand new DJ-centered club night "Nowhere" aims to incorporate the sister genres of shoegaze, ambient, dream pop, and soft psych-industrial tones into one giant pit of fuzzy despair. The night is free, starts at 9 pm, and stars resident local DJ talents Jermaine Blair and Retina Burn, who will be ready and waiting to provide you with a warm bath of soothing emotional apathy courtesy of your most discordant dreamscapes.

12. Orcas Island Shakespeare Festival
The 5th Annual Shakespeare Festival on Orcas Island promises a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, a medieval street fair and parade, improv from Unexpected Productions, and (inexplicably) lots of Thai food.

THURSDAY
13. BDSM Writers Con
BDSM Writers Con is the perfect convention for writers who are practiced in or interested in exploring written accounts of sexual power play. They promise workshops, live demos, a Ball & Dungeon Party and a book fair/fetish vending expo. (Through Sun)

14. BlinkThink: How Technology is Shaping Our World
This BlinkThink event features free drinks and snacks, artwork by cinematic photographer Gregory Beams, and presentations by Dr. Megan Moreno and Dr. Kate Starbird on the ways technology influences our society today.

15. Blue Man Group
Weird-pop performance artists/bald icons the Blue Man Group perform a four-night residency at the Paramount. (Through Sun)

16. MC Chris, Nathan Anderson, and Billy the Fridge
Chicago's MC Chris, of Adult Swim fame, is said to have been one of the first rappers to focus solely on "nerd life." His music touches on atypical themes for hiphop, including Star Wars, Harry Potter, and ninjas.

17. RAW: Seattle Presents Signature
This pop-up gallery and concert featuring RAW artists promises music, fashion, performance art, and film. Cocktail attire is recommended.

FRIDAY
18. 3D Western
This series of duets will explore the American wildlands with dance, sound, and cinder blocks, and promises "3D art that moves" in this immersive experience at the bar. (Through Sun)

19. Burien UFO Festival/Burien Film Festival
This combination event promises great films and lots of science fiction madness, in addition to guests like Twisted Groove, DJ Ramiro Uniting Souls, Bowie Vision, gamenotfame, Biker and Sneke, and the Northwest Mystery Museum.

20. Hedgehog Playtime
Meet some darling hedgehogs (or take your pet out for some socialization and play) at this event hosted by Hedgehogs of UW. Meet in the quad for a strange and adorable cuddle session.

21. Kaley Lane Eaton
Award-winning Seattle composer and vocalist Kaley Lane Eaton presents ANIMAL, a "psychedelic, post-minimalist kaleidoscope of her recent work, dancing the tension lines between the body, the mind, the instrument, and the computer.”

22. PostSecret: The Show
Frank Warren, creator of the insanely popular book/series/internet obsession PostSecret, will deliver one of his multimedia presentations about what we decide to (or not to) confess.

23. The Wild Party
Chandelier Productions invites audience participation at this presentation of Andrew Lippa's prohibition party musical, based on Joseph Moncure March's 1928 book-length narrative poem. (Fri-Sat through Apr 9)

24. Youth Speaks Seattle
Maybe you don't normally listen to youth poetry on a Friday night, but you should consider this: Ten poets between the ages of 13 and 19 will compete to be among the top five poets to represent Seattle at the International Youth Poetry Slam Festival in Washington, DC. Hollis Wong-Wear will host the event, and Sassy Black Cat of THEESatisfaction and DJ missTANGQ will also be featured.

SATURDAY
25. 14/48: BoomBox
This nerve-wracking event takes twelve pieces of original music (each composed in 24 hours, by different artists, inspired by a single theme) and hands them off to a makeshift band of Seattle musicians. That group gets 24 hours to practice, and then you'll see what they came up with, in concert at The Royal Room.

26. Arthaus 2.0: Drag Haus Battle Royale
For one night only, four defeated drag hauses compete for bragging rights over the other beautiful losers, and for a chance to get into the semi-finals in May. Cosplay Wildcard Night includes the talents of The Hause of 10 & 6, Le Haus Du Mom Jeans, The Haus of Misfit, and The Haus of Julie's Wedding.

27. Edible Book Festival
Food, book, and, most importantly, pun lovers unite! The Edible Book Festival brings people together for a light-hearted culinary, artistic, and literary celebration. Throughout the day, “books” made from food and inspired by works of literature will be displayed. (Past entries have included works titled Gourd of the Rings, War & Peas, and The Life of Pie.) 29. Legoland Wu Cru Challenge
Bring the kids to tackle a series of challenges (speed, touch, agility and teamwork) in a lego building competition inspired by the new LEGO® NINJAGO™ World and NINJAGO™ The Ride.

30. Red Elvises
Frontman of the Red Elvises, German-born Igor Yuzov, grew up in the USSR where rock music was illegal. In 1995, after having left Russia for California, he reportedly had a dream in which Elvis told him to start playing rock 'n' roll, and immediately started a "Siberian surf rock band." Since then, the Red Elvises have been a "traveling rokenrol party that's constantly in motion and consistently evolving.”

31. Tia Kramer and Tamin Totzke: approaching proximity
As part of the Six Weeks, in Time exhibit, multimedia artist Tia Kramer and choreographer Tamin Totzke will present this durational performance that will "transform object-oriented gestures into human-to-human relationships."

32. Doc Chapeau Meets The Gill Man
Northwest Puppet Theatre presents Oregon Shadow Theatre with Doc Chapeau Meets The Gill Man, a colorful puppet show about a marine scientist who discovers something fantastic called "The Gill Man.” (Sat-Sun through Apr 10)

33. Wearable Sculpture
This sculpture workshop with artist Paul Kuniholm Pauper will help you use materials like metal armature, stretchable fabric and hot glue to create wearable art.

34. Yoga Under Glass
Instructors from Core Power Yoga Studio lead this appropriate-for-all-levels yoga workshop inside the Glasshouse. (I have never started my day this well. If you attend, prepare to return to a sparkling house with a big bowl of decorative lemons on the table, because that's just who you are now.)

SUNDAY
35. Turbo Turkey: Every Turkey Plays the Fool
Holiday-centric Turbo Turkey will perform sketch comedy for April Fool's Day.

36. Prince Rama
It's hard to imagine a pair of sisters in Brooklyn more far out than former Hare Krishna adherents Taraka and Nimai Larson of Prince Rama. DAVE SEGAL

37. A Talking Heads Tribute featuring Life During Wartime
In honor of the 30th anniversary of Stop Making Sense, the Talking Heads' influential rock concert film, Portland Talking Heads tribute band, Life During Wartime, will perform the music from the film.

38. Variations on Time
Three UW faculty members in disciplines dealing with time (music, photomedia, and the comparative history of ideas) will give 20-minute talks on temporality.
