Whatever you want from your Purim festivities—food, alcohol, hamantashen, a Megillah reading, a reptile show, skits, dancing, political theater—we've got you covered. Below you'll find 12 ways to celebrate Purim in Seattle this weekend, from a glitzy Vegas-themed affair to a medieval banquet. The holiday revolves around the survival of the Jews, unmitigated charitable giving, and the festive consumption of food and alcohol—so don a costume, hand out bags of food, and go celebrate. SATURDAY

1. The CYP Seattle Roaring 20's Purim Party
Listen to the Megillah, dance to 20s-style jazz, snack on the obligatory hamantashen cookies (probably not too onerous a duty), and drink with young Jewish professionals at this roaring Purim party.

2. Las Vegas Purim
JConnect is throwing a rather atypical Purim party, for which you're encouraged to wear glamorous "casino attire." Compete in a costume contest, then spray hamantashen crumbs all over your gown and dance to DJ Mysfit's electrotunes.

3. SJC Purim Party
Drink, eat, and play games with the Secular Jewish Council of Puget Sound, with a short presentation of the Megillah (the Book of Esther, telling how the Hebrew queen helped the Jews escape persecution), a costume contest, a hamantashen exchange (if you haven't tried these triangle cookies stuffed with everything from jam to chocolate, it's well past time), a potluck, and kids' crafts. The location is somewhere in Wallingford and will be revealed when you RSVP. Bring some canned or boxed goods for their food bank.

4. Purim Spectacular 5777
Celebrate collective survival and persistence at this free party open to Seattle's Jewish community. Family-friendly draws include a Megillah reading, bouncy houses, a costume contest, food, and a showcase of Purim skits and videos.

5. Topsy Turvy Purim Party: 50 Days/50 Years of Resistance and Resilience
The Kadima Reconstructionist Community will host this resistance-based Purim party in honor of "thousands of years of resistance and thousands of years of resilience in the face of regimes seeking the destruction of their subjects," and acknowledging "50 days of the 45th presidency, 50 years of the ongoing Occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, and 5000 years of people's history." Look forward to raucous celebration, beer, and (of course) costumes. You might learn a little bit about Queen Esther (the basis for the story of Purim, who's famous for her bravery and appetite for vengeance) and hopefully you'll nosh on hamantashen. Proceeds will go towards Colectiva Legal del Pueblo in King County and Youth Against Settlements in the West Bank.

6. Wheel of Purim: A Family Adventure
Spin the Wheel of Purim with Kadima Reconstructionists and enjoy free pizza, hamantashen cookies, political theater, music, and more. To support Kadima's missions, bring Kosher goods for the food bank or donate to the Purim Tzedakah Fund for Colectiva Legal and Youth Against the Settlements.

SUNDAY

7. Chabad of Capitol Hill Purim Celebration
This Purim party promises a reading of the Megillah, a deli buffet dinner, an interactive reptile show (!), a chance to help make your own hamantash, and an open bar. Come in costume and party with Chabad of Capitol Hill.

8. Hoppy Purim!
Dress in costume, as befits the holiday, and celebrate the escape of the Jews from persecution in ancient Persia. There will be kids' activities and stories, courtesy of the Jewish organization PAVE Seattle.

9. Medieval Purim Banquet
Bring your own goblet to this Purim celebration hosted by Ashreichem Yisrael (unofficially sponsored by Uber, because wine and spirits will be served in abundance). Kids can look forward to painting, crafts, and games, and everyone will partake in the celebratory feast.

10. Purim in Hogwarts
Celebrate Queen Esther's heroic rescue of the Jewish people by dressing up as Harry Potter characters and drinking Kosher butterbeer. Hear the Megillah, load up on the buffet-style dinner, see a magic show, and make a ton of noise with graggers (ratchets).

11. Super Purim Carnival & More
The Stroum Jewish Community Center invites you to a free carnival for Purim (the celebration of the Jewish people's escape from disaster at the hands of Haman), featuring food trucks, a mechanical bull, mini-golf, and other games. Optional: come in costume at 10 a.m. for the Hamentashen Hustle ($30), a one-mile race for the whole family.

12. Wild West Purim Party
Dress Western-style and party with Chabad house, with Megillah reading, food, and "western entertainment."
