msi, Geisst, and Spacemen will perform their own interpretations of this concept with ambient drone, spectral audiographs, and astral plane projection.
6. Voltumna, Xoth, Noceur, GraveWitch
Extreme metal band Voltumna promise that their music is so steeped in old school death and black metal traditions that it will send you all the way back to a time when the Etruscan civilization reigned supreme. They'll be joined by Xoth, Noceur, and GraveWitch.
7. Chain Letter Vol 3
This is the third installment of a new Capitol Hill-based reading series, Chain Letter. The organizers write, "We don't even know what we have in store for you." But they do promise readings by Joseph Raisanen, Cassandra DeKanter, and Bryan Edenfield, plus an open mic to close out the evening.
8. Jamie Harrison
In Montanan Jamie Harrison's adventure novel The Widow Nash, a penniless young woman moves to a new town and reinvents herself as a rich widow in 1904. She escapes the normal confines of a feminine life, but will her secret stay safe?
9. Terracotta Warriors and the First Emperor's Mausoleum

16. Aesthetic Mess: Charlatan & Lord Phatrick
Seattleâs foremost post-punk night returns with a live set by atmospheric noise pop act Charlatan, and a selection of dark electro sounds from Lord Phatrick. Goo Goo and DJ Jermaine, as always, will spin a fascinating assortment of post-punk, weird dub, minimal wave, and other mutant subgenres.
17. Close Encounter, Buhu, Peyote Ugly
Local dream pop group Close Encounter make music for alien friends, with opening support from Buhu and Peyote Ugly.
18. Summer Nights in the Art Plaza
Every Wednesday, starting tonight, park yourself amidst the translucent wonders of Chihuly Garden and Glass's outdoor sculptures and listen to local musiciansâthis week, it's Whitney MongĂ©. The concert is included with regular museum admission and includes a drink and a snack.
19. Voycheck Noise Rock Circus
Tired of marketing the same old rock show, local group Voycheck have decided to throw together a night styled like a rock and roll circus, with burlesque, comedy, raffle prizes, and party music all night long.
20. Disaster Book Club: World War Z
Most entertainingly, the Seattle Office of Emergency Management is reaching out to the public with a Disaster Book Club series. This time, Max Brooks' World War Z will provide a pretext for discussing pandemics and what the city is doing to prepare for the worst.
21. Victoria Redel with Julia Fierro
Victoria Redel (author, poet, and professor, whose titles include Make Me Do Things, The Border of Truth, Loverboy, and Woman Without Umbrella) will join Julia Fierro (Cutting Teeth) at this event co-presented by Hedgebrook. Redel will share her latest release, Before Everything: a novel about friendship and death.
22. Waterway: The Story of Seattle's Locks and Ship Canal
David B. Williams (who wrote about Seattle's redrawn, rebuilt hills and waterways in his 2015 book Too High and Too Steep) will join with environmental historian Jennifer Ott for a discussion of the Lake Washington Ship Canal, which celebrated its 100th anniversary on July 4.

See detailed works of art sculpted from tricky ephemeral sand on the gorgeous Pacific Coast. The main celebration/competition is on Saturday in Long Beach, but during the week leading up to it and on Sunday, take sand sculpture lessons, take advantage of photo ops, and breathe that salty sea air.
25. Kla Ha Ya Days
The Kla Ha Ya Days Festival (named after a Native word meaning "welcome") promises a carnival, parade, beer garden, kids' fair, music, barbecue, races, and moreâ"to welcome people throughout Northwest Washington to celebrate the communityâs beauty, and goodwill of Snohomish." Proceeds from this Seafair event will support Snohomish-based community organizations.

COMEDY26. Interpretations
With the help of audience prompts, improvisers will mash up famous plays, TV shows, movies, and books: think Game of Thrones written by J.K. Rowling or William Shakespeare's Breaking Bad. Each audience determines the theme of the next week's performance.
27. Patagonia Seattle's 30th Anniversary Party
Popular outdoor clothing brand Patagonia landed in Seattle in 1987, and they've been dressing your bod ever since. Celebrate their 30-year anniversary with a commemorative party at their headquarters, which will benefit Save Our Wild Salmon (SOS). The evening will start with music by dj100proof and drinks from Bluewater Distilling, Two Beers Brewing Co., and Seattle Cider Co. There will also be treats from Home Remedy and Hot Cakes, as well as special Patagonia Seattle giveaways designed by Hum Creative.
28. Seattle Mayoral Forum Hosted By Allied Arts & Forterra
Enrique Cerna of KCTS9 will moderate a panel discussion between the six major mayoral candidatesâCary Moon, Nikkita Oliver, Mike McGinn, Jenny Durkan, Bob Hasegawa, and Jessyn Farrellâhosted by the environmental/affordable housing group Forterra NW and Allied Arts. 29. Disability Rights Washington: Bottom Dollars
Disability Rights Washington will host this screening of Bottom Dollars, a documentary (produced by DRW's video and social media project, Rooted in Rights) that explores the way that many people with disabilities are legally compensated for their labor with a tiny fraction of the minimum wage. After the screening, stick around for a constructive panel discussion.
30. Moonlight Cinema: Outdoor Summer Movie Series
On Thursdays in July and August starting tonight, watch movies under the stars at Redhook Brewery's Woodinville location. This Thursday's screening is Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, preceded by an '80s-themed kickoff party.

SIFF will present a series of double features on Thursdays this summer. "Garage space rock" band Alien Space Kitchen (A.S.K) utilize the extra-terrestrial vibes of their New Mexico base camp for the inspirations behind their music.
36. DAYBREAKER SEA // The First DUSK
Daybreaker will deviate from their awfully goddam early yoga-and-dance model and see the sun off with their first evening party. DJ Kryspin and DJ Subset will supply the beats, and you can choose between yoga or a HIIT workout for the fitness portion of the evening. There'll be coffee, treats, and live surprises. 37. Filson Music Series
On each of the last three Thursday nights of July, outerwear company Filson will host two live music acts, with each lineup curated by a local organization. 38. Sick Womxn: Y La Bamba, Kaeley Pruit-Hamm, Ings
This all-womxn line-up, including Y La Bamba, Kaeley Pruit-Hamm, and Ings (plus special appearances by Tara Hardy and Leland Chazen), will perform in advocacy of affordable, accessible healthcare for all regardless of gender, race, and class. Pruitt-Hamm will be releasing an EP called Hi From Pillows with Local Woman Records as well.
39. The Totally Emo Sing Along
Bring back the early-mid 2000's with your deep passion for gauged ears, flat-ironed hair, and Pete Wentz's smirk. The Totally Emo Sing-Along, presented by Central Cinema, is their newest themed night of reliving your MySpace glory in the form of a high energy, passionately emo and pop punk music video collage, all subtitled for your sing-along convenience.

59. Bremerton Summer Brewfest
Hop the ferry to Bremerton and taste samples from the upwards of 100 beers on offer, with a special emphasis this year on fruit-infused brews. Never fear, there'll be music and food as well.
60. Harefest 7
Do you long for the music of Pearl Jam, Def Leppard, the Who, Journey, and/or Iron Maidenâlive? This festival of tribute bands, allegedly the biggest in the Northwest, will scratch that musical itch. If you have the urge to camp away from town for a weekend while hearing some familiar jams, this may be for you.
61. The Adventures of Rocketman and Beano
Two superheroes fight fascism and evil. One of them is played by Christine Longé, who won the Seattle Fringe Festival's Audience Choice Award in 2014. She and Tom Spangenberg will entertain you with original music and clowning adventures that bring to mind "Batman and Robin doing Lucy and Desi." This show has been performed at the Pocket Theater and the Fringe Festival and is returning to life at 18th & Union.

ART62. Equine Art Show and Sale
It's a horsey art extravaganza at which $6,000 will be awarded to creative equine-obsessed painters. The goal set for each contributor was to "capture the elements or essence of the horse, horse racing (but not limited to), the horse industry at large and/or all that surrounds the horseâ'the horse and a whole lot more.'"
63. Seafair Seattle Pow Wow
Join the United Tribes of All Indians in the 30th annual festival of music, dance, and food. Snack on some frybread, buy art from Native vendors, see the pow wow dancing, and join in during the Intertribal part of the festivities.
64. Cascadia NW Arts and Music Festival
Starborne presents Cascadia NW Arts & Music Festival at the Masonic Family Campgrounds in Granite Falls, an entire weekend to camp out and enjoy live music, interactive art, workshops, performances and artisan vending. In their words: "Family Friendly and Party Approved." Tickets are sold out online, but can be purchased at the gate starting Friday.
65. Kirkland Uncorked
Kirkland's summer food and wine festival (which doubles as a benefit for the Homeward Pet Adoption Center) features a 21+ tasting garden with more than 70 Washington wineries, a Friday burger brawl featuring sliders from Eastside restaurants, and an all-ages street fair (featuring a cover dog model contest for CityDog Magazine).
66. Alex & Aris
This is the world premiere of Alex & Aris, a play about Aristotle and Alexander the Great: two people who altered the shape and trajectory of the world. But this production will focus more on how they changed each other, exploring their relationship as tutor and student when Alexander was just a teenager.

See a live production of one of Gilbert and Sullivan's most famous and widely performed operas, H.M.S. Pinafore, presented by the Seattle Gilbert & Sullivan Society. Look forward to takes on social class, the Royal Navy, and forbidden romance.

This theater festival offers performances of Hamlet, The Comedy of Errors, and The Seagull by the Seattle Shakespeare Company, ongoing for almost two months.

This festival, which originated in the era of the first Persian Gulf War, connects festival-goers with Arab culture, art, and food from 22 countries.
94. Bon Odori Festival
For Bon Odori or Obon, Japanese Buddhists commemorate their ancestors through ceremony and dance. Seattle's festival, officially part of Seafair, will line the street with food booths, showcase taiko drumming and martial arts, and provide demonstrations of arts and crafts.
95. Dragon Fest
The "largest pan-Asian celebration in the Northwest" spans cultural performances, food, and art from India to China to the Philippines to the Pacific Islands. It includes the beloved $3 food walk, where you can explore the neighborhood while inhaling cheap snacks, as well as Korean drumming, Chinese martial arts, and lion/dragon dances. This event is part of Seafair.
96. Mediterranean Fantasy Fest
The Babylonian Ensemble will celebrate its last belly dance festival this summer (it's been going on since 1987). There will be two performance stages for the dancers, plus vendors and food.

112. Ila Borders
Ila Borders, whose memorabilia is now enthroned in the Baseball Hall of Fame and Baseball Reliquary's Shrine of the Eternals, was the first woman ever to play men's college baseball on scholarship, as well as the first woman pitcher to score a win in the integrated leagues. She'll come to Seattle to read from her autobiography, Making My Pitch: A Woman's Baseball Odyssey.
