FEB 5
1. Brazilian Carnival featuring EntreMundos Quarteto and Tudo Beleza
The Royal Room plays host to a Brazilian-style party, with Tudo Beleza dancing Rio-style samba while Brazilian band Entremundos plays the tunes. Northeastern Brazilian reggae band Bahia in Motion will also lead the samba.

2. Mardi Gras Pub Crawl
It's a pub crawl to celebrate Mardi Gras; what could possibly go wrong? Over 500 people are expected to be joining in the 14-hour crawl, to which you're encouraged to bring "Beads! Hula hoops! Games! Boomboxes! Dance moves! Magic tricks! We want to see it all!"

3. Brazilian Carnaval
The Crocodile celebrates Carnaval with a dance workshop, plus music by Eduardo Mendonça and Show Brazil.

4. Mardi Gras at FareStart
FareStart says it will "transform into Bourbon Street" for Mardi Gras, complete with a three-course Cajun and Creole meal with wine pairing and King Cake dessert, a cocktail reception featuring Batch 206 Distillery and Beresan winery, and entertainment by Tubaluba, Seattle's jambalaya brass rock band.

5. Mardi Gras at the Highline
Burlesque and raucous tunes from Butterflies of Death will get you in the proper Mardi Gras mood at the Highline. Costumes are encouraged, and there will be a "king and queen of Mardi Gras" competition, if you're into that sort of thing.

6. It's a New Orleans Thing: A Tribute to Allen Toussaint
"There are few folks with the cultural stature of Mr. Allen Toussaint. For over 50 years, he wrote, produced, and arranged while continuing as a working musician with, for, and to, well, everybody who was anybody in the music biz. ... As his catalog is one of the deepest, it’s easy to imagine how amazing this tribute party will be." -Mike Nipper

Neighbours' ladies' night Inferno gets the Mardi Gras treatment with DJ WildFire spinning the tunes.

Youth bands from around the Northwest pay tribute to the legacy of New Orleans brass/jazz.

9. Anderson School Mardi Gras
Celebrate Mardi Gras in Bothell—just try not to end up in a pond like the parachuter hired to fall from a plane and land on top of McMenamins (then the Anderson School) in 1937. Tubaluba will provide New Orleans music from 4-6 pm, and themed food and drinks (etouffee, gumbo, alligator tacos, beignets, and Three Rocks hurricanes) will be available.

10. Massive Mardi Gras Party
Celebrate Mardi Gras at The Sixgill with fruity hurricane cocktails and hurricane-inspired beer from Cloudburst Brewing, plus cajun bites—not to mention prizes.

11. Mardi Gras Masquerade Party
It's the Triple Door's first annual Mardi Gras Masquerade Party, with live Cajun music, drink specials, and prizes for best-dressed.

12. Northwest Balkan Mardi Gras
Lo-Fi Performance Gallery's Mardi Gras party features Balkan dance music, gypsy tunes, and more from the likes of Eurodanceparty USA, Wyldernesse, and Claire Michelle.

13. Washington Wine Industry Foundation Mardi Gras
If you're in the wine industry (or would like to be), head to Kennewick for this fundraiser featuring a New Orleans-inspired "strolling" dinner, two drink tickets, gambling, live music, and dancing.

14. Fat Tuesday at The Royal Room
Celebrate the music of New Orleans (including the Meters and other classics) with Wayne Horvitz, Skerik, and guests.

15. Mardi Gras at Central Saloon
Rat City Brass will turn "Fat Tuesday" into "Rat Tuesday" with their big band tunes.

Follichon, the Humphreys, and Troupeau Acadien will perform for a Mardi Gras benefit for foster kids.

17. Tubaluba Does Mardi Gras
Tubaluba stops by Ballard for a concert with Elektrapod and Blubber.

18. Mardi Gras at Restaurant Roux
The French Creole-inspired restaurant will have live Music, hot boiled crawfish, a special menu, and drink specials for Mardi Gras.

19. Fat Tuesday at Toulouse Petit
Beads and masks are "highly encouraged" for this Fat Tuesday party, where the Market Street Dixieland Jazz Band will provide the tunes from 4-9:30 and Dj Shardawn will close out the night.

20. Mardi Gras Happy Hour at Delicatus
Delicatus will have a Mardi Gras-themed happy hour, complete with drink specials, small plates, and music.

Marmalade and the Cumbieros—a Seattle-based band made of musicians from Chile, Brazil, and North America that combines traditional Columbian cumbia with ska and rock—team up to bring you a "Mardi Gras Extravaganza" at the Royal Room.
