Mister Deines has his facts wrong. The runway show footage behind the displayed designs of of the very designs in these SAM rooms. It is not used to contrast Paris traditional runways to the innovative less-body conscious work in the footage, as Mister Deines claims, but to show the Japanese designs on the famous runways. The idea is that these designs have been accepted and have influenced traditional design. Look close, Nathaniel, and you will see the very designs in each room walking down the runways by tall thin blonde Parisian models, in the rooms you are in. The show is about a Japanese vision, but also about the huge influence this vision has had on mainstream contemporary design. I really expect that an The Stranger should get their facts correct. @2: You're actually wrong. There's plenty of footage throughout the show of the Japanese designs on the runways.

There's also an entire wall of monitors showing videos by Western designers from the same time period, designed expressly to show the contrast. This, if you'd like to go looking for it, is at precisely the halfway point in the show, where the themed rooms change over to the monographic rooms.
