I thought about charging my credit card up even more to go to New York to see this show, in the end, decided to be fiscally responsible, and artiscally bankrupt, and hope for someone local to do equally compelling performance.
This show at MOMA was amazing, and having the actors there to re-perform the original works was powerful. It is definitely not the same as the original performance, but it helps connect this important work to a contemporary audience in a way that image/film cannot.
Think about 're-performing' in relation to a musician performing a work that they didn't write.
