Timrrr---YES, it's frustrating. But that's the editor's call, not the writer. If the writer left it out, but the editor wanted it in, it would be in. The reverse is also true. Believe it or not, most writers who aren't working for themselves aren't usually able to just hit "Send" and it gets published. More often than not, someone looks at it first.
Maybe it was an editorial mistake. But if not, I think they're probably making the assumption that if you're reading this online--and you are--that you're familiar with the concept of "Googling" something.
If not, ask someone under the age of 70 to Google what "Googling" is, and prepare to have your mind blown.
Also, memo from the future Timrrr: Any time you think a writer omitted something crucial--remember there's a good chance they're getting paid by the word. If they could have filled whatever informational vacuum your nature happens to abhor at the moment--they probably tried.
