"(One of them was riding on light rail built by the big bad state government when we talked, so I asked her about that.)"

During the ShellNo protests were you one of the dipshits saying "LOOK AT THEM IN THEIR KAYAKS MADE FROM PETRO PRODUCTS HURR DURR"?

@2: Listen to her full interview and then call the Blabberphone and tell me what you think: 206-302-2063. That way your response might end up on next week's show.

There is no such thing as ethical consumption in a capitalist system. And @3, my understanding is that these interviews are edited so how could we possibly listen to the whole thing? Is that untrue? Or are you planning on providing the original recordings for us so we can make up our minds about _everything_ that was said, not just the parts that for a convenient narrative?

I'm an anarchist and I actually helped build the light rail as a union electrician. Can we get a little perspective here? This purity test that is applied to people who actually have a conviction seems to be selectively applied to people who get off the couch and do things. On top of that anarchism is an aspirational political tendency, not a party affiliation. We aspire to build a horizontal decision making structure that provides accountability and transparency to what we do, not plant a black flag on an island and declare it our own.

Just like democratic socialists have to make compromises with the DNC to advance their positions, certain socialist council members have to work within the structure given them, and journalists have to walk the tightrope of journalistic ethics and market advertising demands; anarchists also live in modern society, are as much a part of all the hypocrisy and compromise everyone else is subject to. The implication is, STFU ya stupid hippy, get a job and get in line like the rest of us. We have jobs, we have families, we walk among you.

When you read the manifesto of the PS Anarchist's you are reading the most simplistic, cadre style anarchist tactic, uncompromised and pure in its theoretical form. Can you blame them? They are young people buried under a mountain of debt, legal restrictions, rigged political representation, catastrophic environmental destruction, people as just about out of good options as you are. That they have lost their ability to control the message is a symptom of the political stagnation we all live under, their desperation is a cry for help, not an example of what anarchism can provide to solve these problems.

ahhh, how about two people about to fuck each other assuming they are both equal; able to be honest, respectful, sincere? That's Anarchist problem solving: reciprocity, mutualism, ect.

@7: So you're saying that every time people have consensual sex, they're exercising anarchist values? Can't I visit the Bone Zone WITHOUT supporting your little fuckwit revolution?

Once you've tried anarchist sex, you'll never go back to capitalist sex again.

well now, that depends. I think a little bareback action might ensue if both comrades tied a bandana over their faces, put on a black hoodie and shouted "no gods, no masters!" as they climaxed. A perfect example of mutual aid, if they agreed to the consequences of their actions.

Finally got around to listening to Blabbermouth this week. Is there any political philosophy dumber than anarchism? Although the whole anarchists-shouldn't-ride-light-rail line of argument is also kind of bone-headed.

Please wait...
