Here's the deal with tax money, pot or otherwise: Everybody wants services, but we are too busy giving the rich a free ride in this state to pay for it, so anything that can be taxed or "surcharged" is being taxed and surcharged.
You see that with the utility rates - every time they are raised, the cut the city gets (via the utility tax) gets bigger, so the rates go up. The council talks about wanting to keep rates low, but they need that money, so guess what happens.....
In the long run, it's unsustainable without an income tax, but we can't even think of that without having the vapors, so I don't know what the solution is.
