What Elizabeth Warren did would be pretty stupid, if she was running for president. Funny thing is, she's repeatedly said she doesn't want the job. Now, if she's not running for president, her fight with Trump, and how she's fighting it, make more sense. If she's trying to prove she's a scrapper, and will fight tenaciously for Democratic values as, oh, say Senate Majority/Minority leader, she's looking pretty good. The biggest complaint about Chuck Schumer has been how he's let the Republicans ride all over him, often without a real fight. I think Senator Warren is doing a pretty good job of showing that she would stand up to Trump at every step of the way.

Re: Why people turn Republican as they get older.
I think you're witnessing a phenomena that is most prevalent in those that made up the now nearly-extinct middle class. And, my theory is that these people are voting what they believe to be their interests which are much more tied to the stock market than someone who relies solely on Medicare. As these people age, they are tightening their grip on their 401K's which they will rely on to maintain a lifestyle. And, even though that accounts for a tiny percentage of DOW Jones, the people who have these small investment portfolios feel real pain when corporations cry poverty from regulation and taxation.

In my opinion, Elizabeth Warren won this one - and the answer is in the long-term, which she is repeatedly and profoundly able to see into. Down the long road, that is.

For starters, and for example, Donald Trump has finally STFU on his "Pocahontas" racist and sexist bullshit. And .. the Onion has outed themselves for what a buncha AHs work there.

Anyone familiar with that part of the country (New England) knows there's nothing unusual about what she once said, and as a casual comment in passing. Meaning, she wasn't claiming to be Native American - and she was certainly telling the truth.

He asserted she was lying - then he turned it into something beyond that, as well - and then -he couldn't shut his big mouth about it. He was engaging in continuous harassment of a female Senator. Bc he's such a racist and sexist slob, and a dumb immature bully. (As a racist, he's probably also jealous of her WASP nativist roots. This, too, may have fueled his harassing behavior in his demented mind.)

In one fell swoop, Warren dealt with the factual issue of her ancestry and she dealt with his big dumb mouth. You bet she's presidential material. She's long been presidential material. Donald Trump? He's long been material for a federal penitentiary.
