Great post!

Shows how people in blue states can help people in purple states.

Perhaps forward it to Obama and DNC to show them how that 11 million e mail list plus the millions more who support public option could be mobilized to call into Louisiana and Connecticut to get Lieberman and Landriue and conservadems generally to understand public option is popular in those states.

You know, being like a community organizer? Changing their re-election calculus ? Using, developing and deepening that tremendous grass roots energy that built up last year?

Will you be calling, Dan?

And because defending gay marriage in Maine doesn't do a THING for Washington State if Referendum 71 in WASHINGTON STATE doesn't win on Nov 3, you should all help ensure that our OWN civil rights battle wins. You can sign up to phone bank here:

And you can even call from home for Approve 71, too! Sign up here:

@3: Did you know that there's a large number of folks phonebanking from Maine to help R-71, sverkanya? That they call out when they can no longer legally make calls to voters in Maine? You know, thanks to a 3 hour time difference?

But yah, right, totally, screw Maine, 'cuz we're all in this for ourselves and there's no reason to help advance marriage equality nationwide.

Dan doesn't phone bank. Dan doesn't do anything except smoke pot, bitch on TV, and tell others what they should do. Dan is as relevant to politics as Sarah Palin.

Same is being done by the honest people trying to uphold traditional marriage in Maine. If you have the time to spare and can multitask with the effort being waged here, then you can help also the folk in Maine. I don't have many resources but for my voice and since I cannot be physically there then I'm doing the next best thing.

@8 - Your people are far from honest, and luckily the majority of voters can see through your lies. No more special rights for straight people!

I'm pretty sure this is not a great idea--like the Deaniacs in Iowa, it seems exciting, but it doesn't get you votes. In Maine, a longtime resident told me once, you can doom your campaign for office by being so forward as to distribute yard signs.

I find it interesting that "Loveschild" dares to speak the word "love" and include a picture of a family, when he/she is trying to deny those rights to others.

That is not the action of someone who is pro-marriage or pro-family. That is the action of a bigot.

Please wait...
