Just out of curiosity, why is an obviously white guy with a tiny bit of black ancestry always "a light-skinned black male"?

David Blaine strikes again!

Okay, I know this is totally unrelated, but seriously: when will we start referring to clearly interracial people as interracial people? Isn't that easier than writing out "light-skinned black male." Actually, based on that description, I would be looking for someone a lot more black than this guy.

Okay, end rant. What's up with all the gorey crime, Seattle? This Milwaukee resident/compulsive Slog-reader wonders what has gotten into the waters over in the Emerald City...any mention of the dead mother being a cop? Geez...

Hate to say it - but there is a lot of escalting violence in a lot of cities. Public Transportation in San Francisco has been like taking your life in your hands as of late - people are hungry and getting hungier and tempers are flaring, but hey Wall Street and the Banks are doing just fine...follow the $$

he kind of looks like Gregory Hines.

Shooting a 13-week-old infant. I'm not able to imagine someone being able to bring himself to do that. Maybe I'm just really unimaginative.
8
He looks just like that actor who played Claire's b.f. on Six Feet Under (an actor who is not black, to my knowledge).

You know, I don't want to seem insensitive, but you Seattle folks sure do make a big fuss every time someone gets shot. Imagine if I blogged about every poor soul who gets shot in NYC. There wouldn't be much time for anything else. Buck up! Or, as Dan would say, stop being a bunch of scrotums! People get shot in urban areas (yes, even Seattle)!
10
he looks middle eastern to me. but that's because I project my 9/11 fear onto criminals.
11
I swear, if we just let Renton have BEacon Hill and Rainier Beach Seattle would never have another murder. Fuck this place.
12
I think his last name adequately sums this guy up.
13
If they'd described him as "funny-eared" instead of "black", they'd have caught him already.

@9

I've noticed the same thing. It's weird. They get their panties all up in a wad every time. I especially like it when they complain about how dirty Seattle is too. It's like they've never lived in an actual city before.
15
Man. I don't mind living in a sketchy 'hood -- I mind my business, don't have anything worth stealing, and don't even really give a fuck about this whole "being alive" nonsense -- but this shit freaks my parents out. Hopefully they don't watch the news tonight.
16
What do you think the odds are this guy is going to show up in Dan's next "Every Child Deserves A Mother And Father" post?
17
@9 & 14 -- I've lived in NYC, Philadelphia & D.C. and I'm pretty sure the murder of a 13-week-old infant and her mother would be big news in those places as well. And even if it weren't big news in those places, it is terrible news and people should be upset, concerned, dismayed and disgusted. If you aren't, then there's something wrong with you, not the people who actually pay attention and are disgusted by these crimes.

So sad. I ran into these two a few months back and they seemed super stoked about what was on the way. They were very nice folks.

this guy looks like an Arab to me....

Please wait...
