@4: Actually, in the context you use it, "homosexual" is considered a slur. You've also used slurs of all sorts and frequently stoop to direct insults.

@13, @15, it's oh-so-painfully obvious. She's crushed to the max. Dan is all she thinks about. She has spend hundreds of hours concocting her elaborate scenarios as to how Dan got to be gay, how that could have come out differently if she'd been there to influence him, how he should respond to this that or the other thing -- she's obsessed. She hates the gay for the simple reason that it deprives her of the one key element to her fantasy -- and yet, she also craves the gay because her fantasy is about redemption and conversion back to straight. With her.

Believe me, I cannot believe that I am about to write this, but I have to agree with LC (I know I KNOW!) about the misogyny. The clips were funny but the "Stupid Bitch" stuff kinda ruined them for me. I have no problem with a member of an oppressed group appropriating a slur against themselves for comic effect, (gays using the word "fag" for example) but that's not what's going on in these clips. Hell, it wouldn't have bothered me if they had just stuck with him calling the gals that to their faces in that joshing manner, but repeating "she's a stupid bitch" as an aside to the camera was creepy, and ugly. He didn't sound like a sassy friend. He sounded like he wanted to sew their skins into a coat.

Hello, where are the English majors? Ophelia wasn't stupid, she was mentally ill. She would need a mental health professional, not sass. Also, in a prior scene she takes the herb 'rue,' an abortifacient, suggesting she was carrying Hamlet's child, which goes a long way in explaining some of Hamlet's inexplicable behavior. Finally, she doesn't jump into a brook; she climbs out on a willow tree's branch until it breaks.
