Not only are they impressive renderings, but I've always thought the WSJ portraits often capture some elusive quality of personality. Nice to see the old hand skills at work.

I thought they sat the world leaders down in those photo booths at the mall that can output your picture like a painting, woodcut or charcoal drawing. Seurat would be proud.

I like those little portraits. I hate author photos with articles. All too often, they color the article with ego.
