According to the SPD Blotter, on March 19 at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers patrolling the club scene near the 300 block of 5th Avenue N—adjacent to the Seattle Center—heard three shots fired in the vicinity of a nearby club.

Officers contacted club security, who described the shooting parties as wearing what appeared to be rival gang colors (one group in red, the other in blue). They were shouting at each other from across the street. Someone from the north side of the street reportedly fired one shot, prompting someone from the south side to fire two in return. No one appears to have been injured by the shots and according to club security, neither group had been in the club.

Gang units located one of the suspects—described as a black male, roughly 6'5" and weighing 300 pounds—with his friends at 5th Avenue and Denny Way. On a 16-year-old male, detectives found a stolen semi-automatic handgun, according to the blotter. He was booked into the Youth Services Center for Investigation of Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act.

To recap, in the past week we've had cars crash through Seattle Center barriers and shots fired from across the street. What a grand place to plunk a giant fucking glass museum.
