Says Mayor Mike McGinn, in a new blog post:

For the 110,000 adults in King County who do not have health insurance, for the many Seattle students who take advantage of school-based health centers, and for the working people of the city whose health care depends on the whims of their employer in this uncertain time, the nation’s new health care law is an important, significant improvement in quality of life.

I am happy to stand with the people of Seattle today in celebrating this legislation, and I am signing a City Council resolution supporting the federal health reform and opposing state Attorney General Rob McKenna’s participation in a lawsuit challenging its constitutionality.

My office has heard from many Seattle residents whose lives will unquestionably be improved by this legislation.
