The Seattle Police Chief Search Committee has announced the names of 11 semifinalists to be interviewed for Seattle's next Police Chief, including three candidates from the Seattle Police Departmentβ€”Interim Police Chief John Diaz and Deputy Chief of Police Clark Kimerer, and Assistant Chief of Police Jim Pugel. The Search Committee will interview all 11 semifinalists on Saturday, May 8, before selecting three finalists.

On Wednesday, June 2, the Search Committee will present their three finalists to the Seattle City Council's Safety & Education Committee. Mayor Mike McGinn will then announce his appointment for Seattle Chief of Police. The City Council's confirmation process will follow.
