There's a new Washington Poll out today, and it's full of great stats about where the people of this state stand on equality for gays and lesbians (increasingly supportive) and the new Arizona immigration law (try to figure this one out: a majority approves of the measure, but a much larger majority disapproves of racial profiling).

However, the headline is the findings on the looming contest between Democratic Senator Patty Murray and Republican Dino Rossi. The poll found 44 percent of voters saying they plan to vote for Murray and 40 percent saying they plan to vote for Rossi. That's not as solid a beating as it might sound like, though. The poll's margin of error was 3.9 percent. (With 12 percent of respondents saying they were undecided on the question.)

More on the poll results later this morning.
