According to a filed police report, on May 20 at approximately 3:15 p.m., a woman was waiting at the bus stop at 19th Avenue and E Thomas Street when she was approached by a young black female allegedly holding a "revolver-type handgun." The victim was allegedly ordered to hand over her purse. The victim told the suspect that she didn't have any cash or valuables in it. Then the victim "proceeded to lecture the suspect about trying to rob her in her own neighborhood," according to the report, until the suspect became upset and left, empty handed.

The report adds that the victim waited an hour to report the crime because her phone battery died and she wanted to give it a good charge before calling the police.
