UPDATE: Killian confirms: "I will be handling Council Relations for Mayor McGinn."

Originally posted at noon and moved up.

Tim Killian, a longtime player in city and state politics, has taken an office on the top floor of City Hall as a "senior advisor to the mayor." Last month, rumor had it that Killian was to act as a liaison to the council but today he sounds less clear. "I think I am essentially floating for a bit," he says.

Killian ran the city referendum to repeal the four-foot rule at strip clubs, coordinated the statewide medical-marijuana initiative, and sat on Washington’s sentencing guidelines commission. He also briefly filed to run for city council last year, naming Mark Sidran to his advisory committee, and ran Sidran’s unsuccessful campaign for attorney general in 2004.
