Pfft. I'm waiting for the rabid right-wing freakout around 9/11 this year, since Eid al-Fitr (one of the big Islamic holy days) will fall on either 9/10 or 9/11 depending on the lunar cycle. Oh noes, brown people are celebrating on our day of flag-waving!!!1!!!
I'm getting to the point where I suspect things might be better if they got worse- clearly, 8 years of Bush 2: Electric Boogaloo wasn't enough to scare the electorate off from ever electing another Republican.
But I'll be a good little liberal and check mostly (D) boxes again in November. *sigh*
If you click on the link to that guy's Facebook profile, under musical interests, he lists "Screwdriver," and I don't think he means the Jamaican dancehall artist, if you know what I'm saying . . .
When I first heard of the Birthers, I got a good laugh out of them.
But now I'm a little freaked out that they've convinced a significant percentage of the population to question Obama's birth certificate. Apparently the crazy is spreading.
It really freaks me out that this manufactured, factually bereft so-called controversy didn't dry up and blow away the minute someone explained that so long as Stanley Ann Dunham gave birth to him, it doesn't matter whether or not the O was born on the moon.
Tea Party, Birthers, Meth Heads, Religious wack jobs, "Real Americans" all these problems have the same solution = EDUCATION with a remainder of MURDER.
Or it's ability to use all CAPS.
fucking rubes.
