#2 is Mass Effect, yeah? Normandy 7?

That TF2 Pyro is freaking awesome looking.

Everything Here Is Wonderful! :)

THOSE FUCKING TOE-SHOES!!!! GAH!!!!

(I have cute little webbed toes (the two next to the big toe are webbed half-way up on each foot) and have always been leery of toe socks. Now these? I can't stand it!)

Wonderful photos! Yay! I spotted the ghillie suit in the round-the-block line outside Benaroya as I walked to work this morning.

And I so love seeing those yellow Assassin's Creed picketers promoing the upcoming iteration - I always thought if Dan were a gamer that'd be one he'd enjoy, stabbing wicked priests in the name of reason.

The orange cones are Plants Vs. Zombies?

@1: Yes, that is an awesome Mass Effect 2 costume. Even the hair and lipstick look just like the style you can give to the main character.

However, [lapses into Comic Book Guy voice] the N from the designation of N7 is not in reference to the Normandy, though you do get points for knowing the name of his ship. If you read your in-game codex as I have, you would know that N7 is rather the highest rank given to a solder in the special forces of the Systems Alliance.

[clears throat] You could also verify it in the wiki entry, if you prefer.

Dammit, I need to go to PAX. These are my people.
7
Its true! I work at a game studio... people here so rock the kilts and toe shoes. :(
8
I NEED TO KNOW: WAS THE PYRO A MAN OR A WOMAN?!?!?
9
At least it's not SakuraCon...
10
@5, yes, they were giving those out at the show.

I saw nearly all of those people today. Not pictured here is the lightcycle on display with the new movie-based Tron movie or the Back to the Future DeLorean in the lobby to promote the BttF game you can see advertised on one of those banners.

My favorite costume was the person dressed as a green, L-shaped Tetris block.
11
Uh, Pax?
12
What a great day to be a sniper. (Though I guess you can say that about any convention.)
13
You have to find the guy dressed as Guile from Street Fighter if you go back this weekend. Favorite costume seen thus far.
14

All those guys walking around with plastic guns and no accidental shootings?
15
Holy crap is that Shepard costume impressive. I'd effect her mass any...never mind.
16
Kelly O, this post should be tagged with "games". Then it will match the other PAX content.

And great photos.
17
Dude, I'm pretty sure it's hard to market whittleing.
PAX obviously forgot the No Fun Allowed! rule.
18
Some year I will have to go to PAX instead of bumbershoot.

@6. thanks. I never got past the point in ME1 where I landed on some planet and some fucking Dune sandworm pwned me repeatedly. The non-tank driving bits of the game were amazing before that, however--I could play just the RP style bits all day. But I was the same with Dragon Age. I prefer to play on the easier levels (auto target etc) to really just enjoy the ride, I got the Hard Core Shit out of my system beyond FPS ages ago. The ramp up on difficulty from regular fights to bosses (?) on both were so huge that it was a turn off.
20
sweet pyro
21
I have no idea what Pax is and from the looks of it I'm okay with that. SakuraCon, however...BEST people watching near the Convention Center ever. Hands down.
22
p.s. To each his/her own. Let that freak flag fly!
23
Sakura Con is like, 50% cosplay.

PAX is like, 5%, if that, so really these pictures aren't a great representation of all the people there.
24
So many cute red heads!
25
Ah, to be young and still nerdy again.
26
Booth babes at PAX? Odd.
27
Can we get a convention where there's hot people instead of smug virgins? Just once.
28
@27: What have you got against smug virgins? Besides, I bet you pyro guy gets all the attention he can handle and then some.
29
@19: Yeah, those damn things were the source of hair-pulling frustration on more than one occasion for me in ME1. Thankfully, those awful vehicle segments are absent in ME2, and those giant sand worm things only show up in one small part of ME2, where there's no chance of that insta-kill crap.

I'd highly recommend ME2, as a lot of the issues you address have been ironed out. The only part of the game that didn't have me grinning like an idiot was mining for minerals (necessary for upgrades to weapons and ship equipment), and that aspect of the game has since been patched to make it much less painful than it wast. So if you enjoy RPGs, pick that up!

Please wait...
