They shouldn't have done it so close to Halloween...their target demographic is too busy dressing up like tea partiers to go rally against tea partiers.
2
Squee!
3
@1: Nah man, it'll just make it more likely that those that show up, show up in costumes. And that's a win.
4
This feels like when your parents go back to sleeping in the same bedroom!
5
This is very cool. Maybe I should visit our nation's capitol for once?
6
I so want to go!
7
I'm not even from your country, and I really really want to go.
8
They really didn't give much time for people to make plans/etc. Like Jon said - "reasonable people have shit to do" and they only have like 5 weeks to try to make plans if they want to attend.
10
I have lived in DC for 4 years and never attended anything.

This - I will attend. Woot!
11
This should be better than Cats!
12
Damn! If I still lived in Pittsburgh I would SO drive to this! Sad that I'll miss it. God I hope it draws more people than that stupid Beck rally.
13
Cool! Since I'm ditching homecoming weekend in Flagstaff this year due to SB 1070 and other lovely AZ hate-filled legislative actions, perhaps I'll do this instead....
14
Hooray! Something to do in DC finally!
15
An answer to right wing nut jobs and a funny one at that. But I do hope they get pointed in their criticism. Gosh, I'd love to go!
16
I... kind of just opened a tab for orbitz to look for tickets to DC.
17
Anyone interested in having a simultaneous rally/march here in Seattle?
18
try using hipmunk.com instead of orbitz. much nicer on the senses.
19
@18: I checked out hipmunk. Worst interface ever.
20
Fox News will be covering this like crazy.
21
hipmunk..seriously? wtf?
22
And it's "Stephen" Colbert not "Steven" Colbert. Just typin'.
23
I think we should join.

But DC is pretty far for those of us in Washington State, so can't we just go to Capitol Hill in Seattle or maybe compromise and drive up to BC and watch the leaves turn?
24
@12 I'm in Pittsburgh and thinking of going (my first rally/march/protest/thing), come on back we'll carpool down.
25
@17 That sounds fun, but I think it'd have to be more than an "I'm aware of Comedy Central" thing...

Perhaps a TEE-HEE Party Rally, where we see how well Poe's Law applies to the TEA Party? Maybe a Tax Rally, celebrating all parks, roads, and all the other goods and services we enjoy?
26
i'm VERY inteersted in rallying here in seattle.. i like that thing we do where we gather at a park..( volunteer or cal andersen?...and then march in the street t(o westlake or seattle center ) and stuff.
27
If I could drive from Cincinnati to DC for the Obama inaugural in the middle of a snowstorm, I can surely repeat the route for this momentous event.
28
I hope it does really well, but the trouble with their particular demographic is that they've probably got better things to do.
29
I wish I had the extra cash for a quick trip to DC for the rally and Halloween!

Otherwise I will settle for The Stranger sending me to cover the event* (*no expense spared), or a Satellite Rally to Restore Sanity here in Seattle.
30
Hey Psion! I'm glad to see that Pittsburgh will be represented. I may heading down with some friends too!
31
I predict a million people show up but Fox News says only 87,000 were there!

Would go if I could, but can't get the time off.
32
I'm all for a rally in Seattle. This is the Seattle rally link http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/topi…

Please wait...
