Over at the Daily Paul, a Ron/Rand Paul supporter writes a kind of heartbreaking post. The 21-year-old was hospitalized for Ulcerative Colitis and doesn't have health care. He says that though he doesn't agree with the liberal stance on government-run health care, he can surely understand it a little better now:

This all got me thinking. I hold the paleoconservative/libertarian position on healthcare and still have, however, this got me thinking that no wonder the other side fights so fervently about this. There are people such as myself that simply cannot live. You are attacking their existence.

I would like hear certain such comments from my fellow DPers regarding the issue. I would love to know if I did anything so that I can stop doing whatever I did or make sure I never do it again. But the disease remains elusive. What do we do with these people?

The stalwart libertarians of the Daily Paul (or DPers, as they apparently call themselves) don't spend much time writing about the libertarian stance on subsidized health care for the poor and unfortunate people who can't afford it. Instead, the thread is consumed with internet diagnostics, which are always correct and very helpful:

I could swear I seen a class action law suit commercial for some acne treatment drug. They were talking about how Ulcerative Colitis as well as Crohn's disease had been linked by the use of this medication. Judging by your age ( 21 ), could this be relevant to you?

The Chinese use liquorice

I had digestive issues for a long time
Then I cut out gluten grains and sugar. Then went on a Paleo/Primal-type diet. It helped a lot.

i dunno

but after that cheerleader cured her vaccine-indused multipleslorosis by cleansing her body of metals, i'm convinced there is no such thing as a "disease," only temporary conditions.

There is also a serious discussion about moving to Canada to take advantage of their medical system on the second page of the discussion, which I'm pretty sure isn't a pure libertarian ideal. What is a libertarian ideal: If you can't afford health care, just let anonymous blog commenters diagnose and resolve your problem!
