Don't drive to work today if you can help it—take a bus and a long book instead. SDOT worked through the night operating plow trucks and spreader trucks loaded with rock salt to treat the ice- and snow-packed roads. But as of this morning, a number of roads remained closed and others are pretty slick. Here are the closed roads:

-1700-2200 block of East Madison Street,
-19th Avenue Eeast and Boyer Avenue
-West Dravus Street from 20th Avenue West to 27th Avenue West
-6th Avenue South from Yesler Way to South Main Street
-Northeast 51st Street and Latona Avenue Northeast
-Denny Way from Melrose to Stewart
-23rd Avenue East at Alder Street
-Marion Street between 1st and 2nd Avenue
-Northeast 50th Street at University Way Northeast
-East Marginal Way South at South Michigan Street
-6th Avenue at Madison Street

Don't be an asshole and assume that since you grew up in Colorado or your truck was named after a mountain that you can drive these roads. SDOT has 22 plow/spreader trucks around the city working to open closed streets and help King County Metro dislodge stalled buses. Tomorrow you can go back to driving Ford tough.

In addition, garbage, recycling, and yard waste pickup won't be happening today due to road conditions. Next week you can put out double the amount of trash and the city won't ding you.

School-age day care camps run by the the parks department are also canceled and Seattle Public Library locations won't open until 1:00 p.m.

Happy snow day!
