We're told by one of the organizers that Seattle Congressman Jim McDermott, who himself recently received an alarming death threat, will be among the speakers:

At 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 13, the Seattle Vigil for the Victims of the Tucson Tragedy will be held at Westlake Park in downtown Seattle on the corner of 4th Avenue and Pine Street. Local elected officials and community leaders from across the political spectrum will be in attendance and participate in remembering the victims of this heinous act.

A short program will begin at 7:45 p.m. with an invocation followed by readings of remembrance for each of the fallen. There will also be a statement delivered from the family of Dorwan Stoddard who is formerly of Sequim, Wash. The statement and readings will be followed with a prayer led by Rev. David Bloom, a moment of silence and a benediction to close the vigil.

All are welcome, and candles will be available. We encourage everyone to dress appropriately for Seattle weather.
