January 23rd is National Pie Day. (Not to be confused to Pi Day.) You should eat some pie!

You could go to:

High 5 Pie on Capitol Hill, the Seattle Pie Company in Magnolia, Shoofly Pie in West Seattle, or the new Pie in Fremont!

You can also make your own pie and take it to the Pie Buffet in Ballard at the Salmon Bay Eagles Club! From 6-9 pm, everyone is invited to bring a pie (or, if you aren't the baking type you could bring $10) to the pie buffet to eat and celebrate the delicious dessert. There will also be ala mode girls (with ice cream and whipped cream!) moving throughout the crowd. YUM!

Says the Ballard Tribune:

Everyone is encouraged to bring a pie: sweet, savory or experimental, although the experimental pies are not always made to be eaten. Last year the performer known as Paula the Swedish Housewife baked a Humble Pie, with nickels and dimes in the crust. Schile wanted to make a pie that would allow you to blow bubbles after eating. She created the Bubblegum Chiffon Pie — and it worked.

Pie!
