Taken from "Point Blank" (of which the Mel Gibson 'Payback' was a remake) directed by John Boorman and was quite a strange film. Plus...Angie Dickinson shows her boobies!
I stopped watching after the second part decided to repeat more than four times. People making techno or techno-like music: You don't have to repeat everything sixteen times without changing anything.
Reich's primary modus is parallel phasing. "Clapping Music" is tabulated for two clapping performers. One goes off a beat every bar or so to create a new polyrythm, and permutes through each combination in order until it cycles back in sync again. It's SUPPOSED to be repetitive.
This is the greatest YouTube I've seen in a long while. Thank you, David!
@5 actually I think it's the resonance he gets out of Angie's face. A great performer needs a great instrument.
I approve.
