Not surprised.

Soon they'll both be sent to the CPAC Concentration Camps for "reeducation", never to return ...
2
With all the big stuff being done by adults this week in the administration, the Republican Party sure looks like a collection of bumbling clowns.
3
Dirty hippies and god-cursed sodomites!
4
Where are the little quislings going to run to now? Can't be a queer and participate in the conservative movement. This was obvious to everyone but the GOProud queers, but then they're so conflicted it's no wonder they can't grab a clue.
I can hardly wait to hear Barron prevaricate.
5
"Small government" doesn't mean anything besides don't tax the rich to Republicans. That's all it means.
6
I'm increasingly frustrated by the conflation of libertarianism and conservatism. Why do libertarians get lumped in with Republicans as if the former were all part of some fringe sect of the latter? I'm not a Democrat, a Republican, or a Libertarian, but I have lots of libertarian views, lots of liberal views, and not so many conservative ones.
8
@6, I believe it's for exactly the same reason that conservatives conflate liberalism with socialism and communism. It's a combination of lazy thinking and an opportunity to judge others based on the tiniest bit of information. This kind of thinking is as prevalent here as it is at Free Republic.
9
@6: because the Libertarians, like Ron Paul and this guy, are in the GOP?
10
Since when is the GOP is "Big Tent"? Any political party that makes use of an acronym like "RINO" is not exactly inclusive.
11
The Republican 'mos and potheads will be back, wearing another kick me sign, as usual. They only came there for a tax cut, same as all the rest of them, and the stuff about rights is just smokescreen to class up their greed.
12
@9: Max, Ron Paul may be libertarian, but he's not a Libertarian. He's a Republican. The Libertarians are not "in the GOP" (i.e., part of the Republican Party), they are a competing political party.

Quoting the Advocates for Self-Government:

Political Philosophies

Left (Liberal)

Liberals usually embrace freedom of choice in personal matters, but tend to support significant government control of the economy. They generally support a government-funded "safety net" to help the disadvantaged, and advocate strict regulation of business. Liberals tend to favor environmental regulations, defend civil liberties and free expression, support government action to promote equality, and tolerate diverse lifestyles.

Libertarian

Libertarians support maximum liberty in both personal and economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence. Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.

Centrist

Centrist prefer a "middle ground" regarding government control of the economy and personal behavior. Depending on the issue, they sometimes favor government intervention and sometimes support individual freedom of choice. Centrists pride themselves on keeping an open mind, tend to oppose "political extremes," and emphasize what they describe as "practical" solutions to problems.

Right (Conservative)

Conservatives tend to favor economic freedom, but frequently support laws to restrict personal behavior that violates "traditional values." They oppose excessive government control of business, while endorsing government action to defend morality and the traditional family structure. Conservatives usually support a strong military, oppose bureaucracy and high taxes, favor a free-market economy, and endorse strong law enforcement.

Statists (Big Government)

Statists want government to have a great deal of power over the economy and individual behavior. They frequently doubt whether economic liberty and individual freedom are practical options in today's world. Statists tend to distrust the free market, support high taxes and centralized planning of the economy, oppose diverse lifestyles, and question the importance of civil liberties.

13
"house homos" yep, you went there. I can't disagree though.
14
@ Phil: Right there with you, man (hence the handle). Also, Democrats piss me off less than Republicans because at least the Democrats don't insult me by pretending to share my values.

Also, "libertarian" and "Libertarian" are increasingly divergent terms these days (Bob Barr, WTF?) which is especially frustrating since they are pronounced the same way.
15
#14: If you're talking about "true" libertarians, the best term is "anarchist," the term they use everywhere else in the world.

The "Libertarian" party is just branding to try to get more Republican votes.
16
Haw haw haw haw, the Teabaggers have made the Ron Paulies and Log Cabiners their bitches.

You stupid twats mocked Obama voters, but he doesn't give us lip service 100% of the time.

Y'all boned.
17
@6

Every Libertarian I know is a de facto Republican.

I have been under the impression that it's because there are a lot of types who would call themselves 'fiscal conservatives' who really don't want to be painted with the Republican brush.

These are people who vote Republican, have no intention of voting for anyone else, but their motives are completely Randian. Everything else about the party makes them sick, and rightly so. So they don't want to call themselves Republican even though it's what they are.

Just, in my own admittedly limited experience, that is what Libertarianism has become.
18
so how many pro-lifers in the democrap big tent?
how many opponents of homosexual marriage?

yeah.

we thought so.....
19
@18: Gee, I don't know. (Honestly, ten minutes of web sleuthing turned up NOTHING.) Why don't you tell us what fractions of Democrats and Republicans are for and against a woman's right to have access to an abortion and the rights of citizens to marry the adult, unrelated, consenting partner of their choice?
Go ahead, Alleged. Spill.
20
With it, just lost any republican hope they had in 2012. Get ready for 4 more years of Obama! Good game conservatives, next time go with an environmental conservative, steal some green party members and hey, what the fuck isn't conservative about conserving the planet for the next generation? The republican candidates make me want to cry. They're all hell bent on remaking the world in their image. They take shots at education and people who work 40+ hours a week. Who the fuck do I get to vote for? I don't even feel like I have anyone to root for.

Please wait...
