Oh, this will be a sweet rebuke.

Super!

Now democrat voters can go back to being complacent and non-voting until the next time a republican announces loud and clear what he/she is going to do, gets elected by the people who vote regularly, and then does exactly what republicans always do, at which point the democrats will act surprised and outraged and will clamor all over themselves in order to restore things back to the way they wanted, after which they will go back to being complacent and non-voting...

I keep hoping that this round of GOP assholery will be their last. I keep hoping that they've finally gone too far and that they've finally alienated the GenXers set to take things over. I keep hoping that the center-right, good sense, socially responsible, pro-business but pro-labor _rights_ South Park Republicans like my brother-in-law will bail on these bastards and leave the GOP a party of old, white, nationalist fishfuckers ready to be cast onto the dungheap of history. I keep hoping.

Urqutha Forka makes a good point, but still and all: AWESOME!

Since recounts aren't quick affairs, will Prosser get to stay on the court while the union busting bill comes before them?
6
Kos says at 10:20 PDT that Lake Mills is counted and that "Prosser picked up only 2 votes in Lake Mills"...

This will go to the WI supreme court, which will have to hold off on its decision while Prosser sues to be able to not recuse himself from deciding on the ballots. After which he will sue to not recuse himself from deciding if he has to recuse himself. After which he will sue to not recuse himself from deciding if he has to recuse himsel from deciding if he has to recuse himself from deciding on the ballots. Ad nauseum.

@5 yes.
9
Hells yeah!
10
I love me some close Supreme Court action!
11
And for various technical and demographic reasons, Democrats nearly always pick up votes in recounts.

Do you know what these reasons are?
My guess on one big one: Statistically speaking, Republicans are more like to be too fucking stupid to fill in a circle correctly.
12
@8 You could tell me the Earth orbits the Sun and I would doubt you.
13
@11,

Actually, you kinda have it backwards. Democrats tend to represent the demographic extremes—the very young, the very old, the poorest, the least educated (and the best educated), the newest voters—and these voters tend to have more trouble filling out ballots. So in "voter intent" state's like Washington, their ballots are statistically more likely to have been properly read by the optical scanners.

It's not a huge Democratic advantage, but it's statistically significant. So more often than not, it's the Democrat who picks up votes in recounts.

Who did those jackasses think they were electing?

And look at Russ Feingold's replacement ... this fucktard who wants to cap medicare payments at a rate below inflation, while reducing taxes on the wealthiest persons and corporations from 35% to 25%.

Wisconsin has become a pit of basket case nightmarish ideologues.

A moral victory for sure, possibly a real victory in the coming days. It will be inetresting to watch this one because the House, Senate and Govenor's office are all held by the GOP, so they have a very favorable climate for a recount. What you do bet they keep him seated on the bench as long as possible?
16
@15, actually, I've heard from lawyer friends that the person who selects the judge that oversees the recount in this type of election is actually the chief justice of the state supreme court, shirley abrahamson, who is a fierce and amazing liberal
17
@16, not only that, but Prosser apparently publicly called Abrahamson a bitch and said he would destroy her. So it seems unlikely that she will feel too much sympathy for any complaints he might have about who she appoints to oversee the recount.

Please wait...
