Loop ho's indeed! THANK YOU everyone who's involuntarily fasting there tonight!
2
PLEASE keep the updates coming from inside.... anybody else up for a road trip???
3
yay!!!! I love it when we practice freedom of speech and ignore the laws requiring a permit.

If they are still down there this weekend then I might join in.

Scab Geezer Goldy is paid a non-Guild-negotiated wage by cheapjack Tim Keck, publisher of the Stranger. Geezer Goldy works for the Stranger at a price not negotiated by the Guild. Geezer Goldy is a scab.
5
Just heard from Sandra VanderVen: No arrests tonight, but the protesters *are* staying overnight in the Capitol. Cool!
6
Yes! Squishy Dems and union-bashing Republicans beware, we won't sleep while you slash vital programs and leave corporate tax loopholes gaping wide. Way to go Capitol squatters!
7
HOME TOWN PRIDE!!!!!!!
8

Budget protestors?

The should be on Alaskan Way...protesting the tunnel.
9
awesome :-)
10
Still waiting for Goldy and Eli to stand up to their publisher and demand pay for all the unpaid interns.

That takes guts.

Organize or STFU.

This is what Democrats get when they legislate like Republicans, hell yeah. We elected you to FUCKING FIGHT for the poor, for the middle class. When you give up you become Republicans, and we treat you like Republicans. It's not the letter in front of your name that matters, its the fucking priorities in your budget.

I-1053 is almost certainly unconstitutional. See http://waliberals.org/i-1053-is-unconsti… . Furthermore, it's very unlikely that voters realized that they were voting to prevent legislators from eliminating tax exemptions.

Super-rich individuals and corporations often pay little or no taxes. GE pays no taxes. I heard google pays no taxes. Big Oil gets subsides from the government. Microsoft and Boeing enjoy tax exemptions from WA State taxes. Companies ship jobs and profits overseas.

The result, of course, is increasing concentration of wealth. But the people vote against their own self-interest and are deceived by propaganda from the Right.

The po-po put the kibosh on the pizza party??
That's... that's just cold.
14
Who plans a major civil protest, and relies on pizza delivery not to starve? I'm not sure who is lamer: the cops or the morons that planned this sleepover.
15
@14: they'll be allright in any case, 'cause we all know they can easily subsist entirely on their stored quantities of pocket granola, and lembas bread. Ba dum bum.

16
Pizza never came in, we had to eat it outside, then come back. But Senators Kline, Keiser, Harper, & Brown, and Reps Stanford, Sells, Liias, Upthegrove, Van de Wege, Hasegawa, & Hudgins all came by, most of them w/ food.
17
Geezer Goldy thinks the Dems are a bunch of pussies for proposing a budget of mostly cuts, but Geezer Goldy won't call Yoko down at the Guild and seek to help to organize this scab rag. What does that make him?
18
It was undelivered pizza that brought down the Roman Empire. Et tu, Pagliacci?

Feel free to cut and paste the following message:

Scott White
David Frockt
Phyllis Gutierrez Kenney

I am writing in support of those who spent the night in the Capitol Rotunda last night, 04/26/2011. Although I could not be there, I was there in spirit, and I will be joining them as time allows. I am writing to ask that you three begin using the power of your position to set the frame of debate rather than playing defense to Tim Eyman / Koch brother talking points. The frame of debate must begin with the statement that "we do not have a budget crisis, we have a revenue crisis". The debate must include the fact that the state budget has been slashed every year since 1986, and there is nothing left to cut.
There is no way to cut our way out of the current Tim Eyman created crisis, and there is no need to. In fact, to do so is immoral. I expect you to do the right thing and advocate for not just the roll back of special interest tax loopholes, but to find new ways to increase tax revenue.
There is no budget crisis. There is a revenue crisis.

Assignment for all who wish to take me up on this: check out the comments posted in regards to coverage of this event on KOMO and KING. After swallowing the barf back down, tell me, are most of the comments actually the work of one messed up guy, possibly on salary, with a gazillion email addresses and commenter profiles? The comments are all the same--dripping with hate, stupid, and insinuating poor people have become that way because of something they did wrong. Then please post a comment. If you think it is all the same person, as I do, say so! Thanks!
