There is no political correctness in the realm of porn. If women have to put up with being known more as "bitches" and "sluts" in porn, trans women have to put up with "chicks with dicks" and "shemales."
2
Science is fucking sexy! And makes for sexy fucking.

@1

Seems the solution is to stop refering to women as Bitches and Sluts in porn, then. Or find an equitable term for men in porn.

Sadly there is to my knowledge, no equitable term.

I love that the PhDs who wrote the book are named Ogi Ogas and Sai Gaddam. They're the dynamic-duo superheroes of easy-to-read sex research. Proof:
1) They analyzed the text of over 10,000 het romance novels to determine the hundred most common descriptors of the male hero, and no synonym for "good dick" made the list.
2)
"To steal an expression from American writer William S. Burroughs, we need to “see what’s on the end of everyone’s fork.”
Awesome. Thanks for mentioning them, Dan.

I agree with Matt. Deal with it.

And yeah, getting off on Chicks With Dicks doesn't make you gay. Getting off on regular guys' dicks does, though. Thus the "no sausage" rule on many websites.
5
At least I finally know who called my bank to report suspicious use of my credit card.
6
@1, @4: Why should women have to accept being insulted? Why should trans people have to accept having their identities challenged or outright denied? Just so a bunch of privileged assholes don't have to check their behavior?
7
@6

I stand corrected. "Privileged assholes" is a good one.
8
@7: And it's versatile, too!
9
Well, it wouldn't make much sense if there were no perks involved with being a privileged asshole, would it, @6?
11
@ 6, mostly because it's porn and it will never bend to the whims of political correctness.

I find all that stuff repulsive, myself - I don't find degradation in the least bit arousing, which is also why BDSM baffles me - but I'd rather choose to fight that battle on a field where I'd likely win. Porn is not that battlefield.
13
Not to mention that there's a sizeable population of women who get off on it too. One of the more memorable moments of my life involved a pretty severely bound woman screaming "I'm a slut" through her gag while I fucked her - and she got off on it more than I did.
14
@11: Sure, we have to pick our battles. But that does not mean we have to just shrug our shoulders and say "What are you gonna do?" We are still justified in taking offense.
15
Just because SOME like it doesn't make it OK for ALL.

Geez, and people wonder why I prefer naked male wrestling. ..
16
@ 14, go ahead and take offense. I never said you shouldn't do that ("put up" doesn't mean "accept unconditionally"), just that you shouldn't expect your outrage to change anything in porn. Get rid of -isms in society and they'll disappear from porn; trying to get rid of it in porn will only boomerang.
17
@16: I agree, though I guess we have different definitions for "putting up with". :)

@12: Gender identity and sexual attraction are so much more complicated than a simple "XX or XY". How about all the androgen-insensitive females with XY chromosomes? Are men "a little gay" if they're attracted to them? Many XY females end up as fashion models...
18
@15: And the corollary is equally true: Because some don't iike it, it's not "good for all" either.
20
I still like the sound of "Chicks with Dicks!"
21
They missed the contingent of mostly straight mostly middle aged women who make & consume amazing amounts of mostly badly written m/m erotica.
22
@20 -- I keep getting an echo of "Dixie Chicks" with that which is seriously fucking with my mind o.O
23
Um, straight men like to look at dick during porn not because they're secretly turned on by dick (keep dreaming, homos) but because they imagine it being their own dick and so like to watch it getting sucked, etc. Also, the bigger the dick the porno dude has, the more manly & impressive the straight dude viewer feels imagining it's his dick.

Plus, it's just logic that people will focus on the dick more than the snatch during porno fuck scenes in the same way that people will focus on the key going into the keyhole, rather than the keyhole itself. It's the thing that's doing the doing. But if you need to believe that it means that straight dudes are secretly as gay as you, go for it. Ain't gonna change the fact that 90% + of men still want to fuck us ladies.
24
@23 Ain't gonna change the fact that 90% + of men still want to fuck ladies.

Fixed! You're about as lady-like as a tobacco chewing cowboy out on singles night. How is single continually working out for you, by the by?
25
@23 I just... whut? What a limited imagination to be utterly incapable of seeing the, er, "snatch" as anything other than completely passive.

That's actually probably what's at the root of what's so wrong with the whole gender dynamic in this society actually. Being unable to imagine a vagina as a dynamic entity, if you will. I mean, my god, that limits you to a pretty boring & limited subsection of sex if that's the only way you can see it. That limits the way you see men and women in this societyl. That limits the roles you give to each. That limits what you see little girls appropriate activities, that constrains the view of boys and all the way till they're grown up.

Oh, just FFS.
27
Ha ha, BEG. That mental image makes quite a visual!
28
Won't someone please think of the cum dumpsters?

@2 You do know that porn, like Hollywood, is just make believe, right?
29
@23 I think the idea isn't to say that those men are all gay, but that looking at dick and liking looking at dick doesn't automatically make you gay.

It just goes to show that all that straight boy overdramatic disgust, going "Eeeeew!" and acting like seeing a dick is the most horrible thing is just them putting on a show. They like looking at dick sometimes, and they have to pretend to hate it because they can't stand the thought that someone might think they're gay. Maybe this will give them the confidence to stop acting like 13 year old boys and admit that looking at a penis really isn't that bad. In fact, it's kinda good.

I feel the same way about gay guys who react that way to breasts or vaginas. It's really not that big of a deal. They're not my thing, but they don't bother me.

This can all be summed up thusly:

PEOPLE LIKE TO LOOK AT WEIRD SHIT ON THE INTERNET

People like to watch some fucked up shit, and porn is often the best way to find it. I have searched for bestiality porn, shit porn, piss porn, vomit porn, and raptor porn (okay, that one was an accident but I still watched the video). Not because I wanted to DO any of those things, but because I felt like watching people do fucked up shit on the internet. I do not now and never have wanted to engage in bestiality, shit/piss/vomit play, or sex with raptors.

My taste in porn has very LITTLE to do with the videos I search for on internet porn sites. And I know I'm not alone. I get my porn for free via torrents, as do most tech-savvy youth (especially males). Thus I would not ever search for what I like on porn sites. If I want to see something I like, I pop it up on my hard drive and play it as many times as I like. If I want to see some fucked up shit, I pop up a porn site.

Am I the only out openly gay guy in the world who is primarily attracted to super effeminate guys and trans porn and drag queens and all other things gender ambiguous? It really feels like that sometimes.

My boyfriend does drag frequently, and I love him in and out of a dress. It's not like the minute he puts on girl clothes I forget that he has XY chromosomes. Even in the gay community I get crap for this. I am often made to feel like just because the rugged cowboy with a five o'clock shadow type isn't really my thing, that I am somehow not properly gay. It's like being a minority inside a minority.

The frustrating part is that the feminine minded get all sorts of recognition and support, and you will very seldom hear anything said about the men attracted to them that isn't demeaning or hostile. They don't even have a word for us, other than something offensive like "tranny chaser", which could not be more minimizing and dismissive. And I'm sorry if I ramble or sound defensive, but this is something I wind up having to deal with all the time. It becomes frustrating. Many apologies.
32
Calling them transwomen is an assumption of their gender identity.
33
I should think that Dan's inferences about human sexuality, based on years of giving out sex advice, are certainly no less valid than whatever "scientific" assertions Ogi Ogas and Sai Gaddam draw from porn site (and don't forget AOL and Dogpile!) search statistics.
34
As a straight guy, I hate looking at dicks in porn, and trans "women" make me vomit. But, you know, different strokes and all that. If that's what other straight guys like, let them go for it.
35
Straight guy here. I like to watch a good tranny porn when its tranny on girl, but not when its tranny on guy.

not sure why.

I'd get busy with a hot tranny though. which would be exactly the thing I don't watch.

Still not sure why.
36
@ 31 Maybe that's like the equivalent of a straight guy that is into big women. You're not into the 'acceptable' type, so you catch all kinds of closed-minded crap from people with little imagination.

As a guy that likes his men femmy and his women on the butch side, I think I can feel ya a bit.

37
@25, I thought it was funny that Confluence used the word "snatch" even while suggesting it was passive like a keyhole. "Snatch" always makes me picture my lips swelling until they can reach out, then grabbing and holding onto dick for dear life...

Please wait...
