If Jane Hague fell on the sword of saving Metro, so be it. A most noble act.

What Jed said.

@1, It's hard to say. Was this her Republican base abandoning her after announcing her support for the fee on Friday? Or was Mitchell gradually picking up support as voters became more aware of him?

It's interesting to note that only Mitchell picked up percentage wise from yesterday's drop to today's. Everybody else in the race saw their margins fall.

Perhaps it's because people never forgot Hague's drunk driving arrest, her bad mouthing the arresting officer, and lying about having a college degree.

What Jed and Howie said.

Actually, Mo increased to 3rd place in Seattle Council primary.

But @4 for most insightful.

Speaking as a very conservative former Eastside taxpayer and voter, it's time for Jane Hague to look at her pension plan. Her poor showing in the primary isn't just a result of the Metro vote, though that was a shark-jumping moment, but instead it's an accumulation of many years of outrages and political gamesmanship.

In the words of the great moral philosopher Popeye the Sailor, "That's all I can stands, I can't stands no more."

Piper, I say give her 4 more years and then run one helluva primary challenger. Somebody moderate but who will be more reliable on taxe$.

Perhaps one of Toby Nixon's kids or Rob McKenna's kids would like the 6-figure gig. After all, who wants an abuser of "executive privlege" on the King County Council as Gregoire's former lawyer? WHO?

A primary challenger should have been there this year. On that score, the King County Republican organization deserves the blame.

Yeah, the offices are technically non-partisan, but we all know that's a joke.

Another reason why I am SO glad to be a former King County resident. Not to say that Essex County, NJ is any better - drunken state troopers are all the rage - but at least people in Jersey are honest about their hypocrisy.
