One of the most condescending, disingenuous, paranoid, and logically nonsensical speeches at yesterday's Washington State House vote on gay marriage came from Representative Jay Rodne (R-5), who, after constructing an impressively fallacious argument to support his view that gay marriage somehow rips kids away from their biological parents, declared:

If this body does not have trouble with having marriage now serve as the instrument of severing a child's relationship with one of it's biological parents, then this body is completely confused and misguided, and I don't know if I want to be here.

This speech is worth watching, if only to a) see who the Republicans led off with yesterday in the house and b) motivate yourself to contact Rep. Rodney and suggest an action he might take as a result of yesterday's passage of the gay marriage bill.
