I've taken part in the Seattle AIDS Walk on 8 different occasions and have never been heckled by SPD. Do you have evidence of this, Baconcat? Did you report it?
actually, it could get better if:
1. top leadership that allowed a rubber stamp system of no review of use of force leaves their jobs now.
2. new leaders review all past uses of force, then discipline the officers who used illegal force, and make amends to the victims.
3. only after those two steps are taken do we talk about the future.
No, you shouldn't be gay to be a police officer. You should be UNDERSTANDING and educated to be a police officer. Gay has nothing to do with your ability to protect and serve the LAW, not a specific community, the LAW, not people, the LAW. So many people forget that part of "To serve and protect" is to "serve and protect the LAW" that is the oath they take. If you don't like a law, then CHANGE IT.
Once upon a time, the LAW said it was illegal to perform sodomy. In fact, THE LAW prevents gays from marrying to this day. And yeah, when SPD decides to be held accountable, then I'll buy this act.
Not every cop is a criminal. These few officers opened up and gave their story, and you haters have nothing better to do than to hate away. Fuck off! I found this immensely moving and have nothing but the utmost respect for these fellow human beings. All of the juvenile haters can get the fuck out of here! The adults are now talking...
Will SPD celebrate AIDS Walk this year by heckling like they've done in years past?
