"the next phase of our campaign"? So that means they'e going to START a campaign?
2
It is a very nice ad. It presents Jay as amiable, smart and experienced and introduces his lovely family. He'll make a great governor.

What a pussy democrat. Not gonna vote for yet another moderate who will bend over for the minority republicans. 20 years of voting for the weak dems has gotten nothing but more weak dems . at some point you have to stand up for your values and not cave to the 'but if you don't vote for him, the bad guy will win' crowd.

Man, talk about covering all the bases!

Solid family guy, check.

Worked his way through college, check.

Manly, rugged-looking dude, drove heavy equipment, check.

Wrote a book on an important topic for the future, check.

Looks thoughtful and comfortable chatting with workers, check.

I don't know how he'll be as Washington Governor, but I'm betting there are Republicans who wish Mitt Romney was as likable and saleable as him.

Unless he goes negative against McKenna he doesn't stand a chance.
6
Wow! Poor McKenna. The guy featured in this ad is going to be tough to beat. Like Brooklyn Redaer said, ticks all the campaign boxes!

it's an okay ad, doing the normal job of introducing the unknwon candidate.

but here's where it's short. no freaking plan to create jobs now. and no sign one is coming. and the whole "I wrote a book, I am a lawyer" thing isn't really something that makes people vote for you, not to mention he seems to worship some greek god called apollo. apollo fire, what's that? sounds like teen fantasy fiction. if you can't explain your program in about five words (e.g., "less government, lower taxes more freedom!") it's not a workable message for the masses. ("Read my book, it explains how through targeted tax credits we can do trickle down energy innovations eventually leading to more jobs, well actually, it mainly leads to solar company profits and only leads to more jobs incidentally, we don't really expect to make solar panels here in washington, but we will do the window insulation by hand here in washington, anyway please realize it's not about greek gods it refers to the apollo program, a space program, but I am not saying let's ramp up the space program see? it's like an analogy, we hsould have the same dedication to green energy innovation as we did in the apollo program. no, not the one that crashed, overall it was successful! I am saying we can set a goal and reach it! it's a metaphor" is a bit of a campaign message that's sort of geared to graduate level engineering students who are green energy freaks, they will perhaps stop playing dungeons and dragons long enough to get it, but the guy at the arco station living in amobile home, probably won't get it.

I didn't realize state governors had sway over the Iraq war or Wall St. bailouts.

I'll be more careful in my voting from now on.

@8

I know you're being deliberately dense, but he's actually got those boxes checked, too.

1. He raises these points to show that he had independent and good sense as a public servant.

2. He seemingly sets these points aside by pivoting to his concern for our jobs--something that he could have some control over as governor.
10
@8 so few candidates do it these days so you probably didn't recognize the effort to show a stance on important issues and talk about actual voting record.

Much more likable and personable than McKenna, who comes across as stiff and aloof. He really did check all the boxes with this ad - statewide. Nicely done. Time to send in another contribution.

I know Jay personally and he lives close enough to be on one of my jogging routes. Others decry his "slow" campaign but I think that the media will be forced to cover more of his events as the election approaches, and voters will see instantly the huge difference between the candidates on both a personal and professional level.

Jay Inslee is just a better, more qualified, more likeable candidate and he will be able to get things done in Olympia. McKenna as governor would be disaster - a virtual political stalemate and a constant battle.

Please wait...
