The mistake was not in the godamn words! It was in the idea that you believe you asshat! Words have meaning, and I see know way that you can convey the idea that any woman that got pregnant from rape must've wanted it one some level, without using words that offend.

He just doesn't get it. I was near blown out of my chair by the 'Whoosh" of this idea going right over his head.

Nice attempt at an apology, but he's still in error: "For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks." (Matthew 12:34)
5
He meant to say forcible rape. He has until 6pm to decide if he is staying in the race.
6
This is a dogwhistle to the Dominionist base.
7
"Rape has many victims" - dog whistle that says if she gets pregnant, her fetus is going to be a murder victim if she considers abortion.

"The heart I hold" - dogwhistle to affirm his Christian faith and lifestyle where forgiveness and compassion are the words of the day - for people like him, not the victims of "predators"

That's because they're not christians

If Jeebus himself were alive today, he'd be the first to say "You guys aren't christians."
9
@8 Exactly. They're just like the Pharisees.
10
You shouldn't have to read it off of cue cards if you're speaking from the heart…dildo!
11
@7,

But, isn't the rapist the biggest victim of all? All these feminazis trying to make him feel bad for doing what comes natural.
12
@8:

If Jeebuz were alive today, he'd be the first person these so-called "Christians" would condemn for his Fascist/Nazi/Socialist utterances...

"The media twists my words, yousee. And I misspoke. When I said that 'All niggers are faggots.' what I meant was 'All faggots are niggers.' Totally different thing."

People who demand forgiveness for themselves are never willing to extend it to others. This applies to everyone regardless of political beliefs; the Republican Party just happens to be lousy with those hypocritical, judgmental fucktards, because the Repugs have been catering to those freaks for the past 50 years.

Shit. Sorry for the double post.
17
Who's heart does he hold? Is that really a phrase? What has he just confessed to?

Missouri is a sweet & savory blend of hillbilly and fundamentalist, with a wierd conservative catholic thing in st louis and KC, the major population centers. it's amazing that any Dems get elected there at all. I grew up across the river in IL and know it too well.

This guy will still get 45% of the vote at least. I dont think he can win, so i hope he stays in it.

19
@16 Maybe you should start extending some forgiveness to double posters before asking us all to give it to you.
20
@18 - There are also a few Mormons and a lot of Mormon-related sects in the suburbs around KC. You know, hillbilly fundamentalists. If you happen to find yourself down there, say hi to my cousins who are also my second cousins.

Why do Republicans think that what matters is what's in their heart? What's in their heart is of no fucking consequence to anyone else; it's what they say and do that matters,

GOP Christians do indeed think that only they are worth receiving forgiveness, that religious freedom only applies to them, and that lying can be shrugged off as merely "misspeaking".

Shorter Akin ad: Lying sack of shit still lying, still sack of shit.

They're asking for forgiveness for what they are about to do to US.
