I find this video shocking! I'd never expected a Kenyan Islamo-Fascist to sound so much like a Baptist preacher.
2
Total non-issue. The only difference between this and his speeches on the 2008 campaign trail is the ridiculous folksy "black people talk" that he uses. It's a little too Oprah-code-switchy for me, but he was playing to his audience. No different than Romney on a pickup truck,http://www.wbur.org/files/2012/07/0717_r…, or the dumbass hunting that Kerry did in 2004,http://www.esoterically.net/weblog/wp-co….

The 2008 already posed the question, "are you okay with a black president?" to the American people, and the people already answered. We dangled our toes in the water, we dove the rest of the way in, and we've already acclimated, you won't be seeing any "can they still call it the WHITE house?" buttons this time around.

If we're okay posting stuff from candidates in 2008, I give you the clip so embarrassing to watch that I always hit stop before he can finish his sentence:

@3,

Yeah, but the past four years have been like a nationwide call to all the racists out there who'd been quietly, and for the most part quite contentedly, living out their lives in their rural enclaves. All of a sudden those people, who's lives weren't in any way impacted by the election of a black guy, realized how horribly their lives had been impacted. So now they're all pissed off this time around and their civil liberties have been trampled & call to arms & blah, blah, blah.
6
Yes, a total non-issue - but that doesn't mean Fox won't run it as often as they can in a desperate attempt to turn it into 'news'
7
"The implication is that he's going to publish a video of President Obama talking about race in a way that will presumably make white voters nervous."

...you mean, talking about race at all?
8
53 70 or fight!
10
I refuse to be terrified of any video featuring a drum kit in the background.

Unless it's a crappy cover band, but even then, totally different realm of terror.
11
Saying "It's already been dealt with" ignores the fact that people have attention spans of about 6 months or less. People who will be impacted by seeing this now will either not remember seeing it before, or if they didn't, it will enrage them more than they are already. It's dangerous to dismiss this kind of thing.
12
Yes, dumber things have happened. And in those instances, they involved that little douche James O'Keefe, with Drudge cheering him on in the background, rather than taking center stage.
13
@4 "Slap my hand, black soul man."
14
Ha, ha @9!

So the controversy is that this shows that Obama really cares about poor minorities? I'm horrified! Get me the silver spoon millionaire with the secret offshore accounts who wants to slash taxes for the wealthy, raise them on the middle class, and eliminate government services!
15
@11 - except this election is over. It's done. The people who were voting for Obama are not going to change their minds over things they already knew about.

There are no more vile racist hill people to come out of the woodwork. The woodwork is empty. The election is over - Obama will be re-elected. All that's left are the state elections which, if people like Drudge had any brains at all, should be the Republicans focus.

Oh well, tough titties. I get the feeling it's going to be a beautiful November.
16
Maybe it will encourage more black people to vote.
17
So help me with my confusion... Obama is supposed to be a "Secret Muslim" yet - he is doing the bidding of Christian minister, Reverend Wright? I am still waiting for the release of Michelle Obama's "Whitey" tape.
18
@9 FTW
19
@16 - I agree. Anyone who hasn't yet realized the president is black is immune to the Southern Strategy. Meanwhile, everyone else will be like, "Oh no you didn't!"

Pundits have been speculating whether Romney will "go there, " especially since McCain famously wouldn't, and then lost.

Yes, Romney would be a terrible president, but I'd like to think he's above that particular tactic.

If this is the scandalous video in question than I expect it to back fire. As exactly the kind of voter this is supposed to frighten, this is the Barack Obama I voted for the first time around. This was one of the speeches I showed my republican father to convince him to vote for Obama (it worked). If anything trying to turn this into a negative will only remind us all of the Obama we all fell in love with but haven't seen since.

Really its only going to make him look good.
21
@8) Okay, I'll bite. What does your comment mean?
22
@21 Will has a boner for Edmonton?
23
Paul is obviously a throne-sniffer, as are many sloggers it seems.

Tucker says so.

@21) The original call was for "54 40 or Fight": Oregon Territory northern boundary at 54 degrees, 40 minutes Lat. (denying the UK claim of what is now British Columbia) or fight. Minutes are numbered 0 to 60. There is no parallel numbered 53 degrees 70 minutes.

Do you think WiS means 54 degrees 10 minutes, roughly all the way up to Osland, BC?

Do you think WiS has any meaning whatsoever?
25
This is a great video. I'm glad Drudge et al. reminded me of it. Simply inspiring.
26
Only idiotic Rightwingers would think that a 2007 video, which has been available on the internet since 2007, and which has already been seen by thousands since 2007 is a bombshell that will torpedo the Obama campaign.
