Wow--like 80,000 clicks and required fields later, I can finally NOT receive their "publications."

As much as I loathe the idea of providing my name, address, email address, and phone number to these leeches, if this is the only way to avoid having those worthless doorstops dropped on my porch every six months, I'll chance it.

What the fuck is this "we demand you give us a valid email address and telephone number" shit? THAT'S the deal the city struck? "We'll honor your opt-out rules, Seattle, as long as you funnel all your folks into our industry-run email gathering system so instead of dropping 80 pounds of paper off, we can spam-box the fuck out of your citizens."

@11, while I basically agree, having a "crap" email address will save you a lot of aggravation- you should consider it!

@ 11, also, spam filters work wonders. As does the Do Not Call registry.

I'm experimenting with a fake name to see how much they sell me out.
