Uh, that's 5 packs of cigarettes in 45 minutes. Back when I was a smoker I timed it, about 4 minutes to smoke a regular ole Camel filter. So they are claiming 400 minutes worth of smoking in 45. Smoking is bad, but stats like these sound like drug war nonsense and damages their credibility.
@4, looks like the World Health Organization is the source of that estimate, extrapolated from a legit 2004 study of waterpipe use in a Beirut neighborhood published by the journal "Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Behavior." http://www.who.int/tobacco/publications/…
It's a place for smoking. Why would anyone complain about smoke? This is where government goes off the rails. I stand a better chance of dying in a hospital so shut down hospitals for being bad for your health.
The "private club" model has worked in nightclubs where the workers are "volunteers". Even when members can sign in unlimited guests as long as they pay cover. That seems to match the "public place" part. What's the difference?
If smoking is bad then why drinking is legal!? And why did we passed law for weed? Aren't those bad for Heath as well? People who love drinking they work at bars! And what is about all shooting flight by hookah lounge when I see fight and shooting everywhere at clubs, schools, and any place! Drinking is causing problem on our society as well so why close hookah bar when it's unique to culture.

Who cares how many supposed cigarette-equivalents are being inhaled? Is it at least one? Yes? Then it's a violation.
I'm opposed to these stupid nanny-state cigarette bans, but if it's a law it's a law, regardless of the method of inhalation.
