Parks Major Maintenance is $267 million, estimated. Not that there is any computer program to actually track parks major maintenance needs. I do love that McGinn, in his most recent budget, proposes cutting parks by nearly $1 million, while increasing funding elsewhere by $39 million.
"I feel like all of these questions are written by agoraphobic shut-ins" is spot on. But then, those may be the only ones who haven't got their minds made up already, so it suits this venue.
If a person were taking transit, and their abode wasn't in a suitably dense part of town, and they made eye contact with a Benajmin Cumberbatch lookalike across the aisle and started a conversation, should they lie and say yes, you'd squeal if I told you the population density of my block or try and dance around the topic and reveal your age, saying, I bought a 125 sq. ft. condo before they were called apodments!
McGinn seems to have a lot of strong opinions on what needs to be done in Olympia. When Murray wins, Pedersen will likely go up to the Senate and there'll be an open House seat. Perhaps McGinn should run for that, and he can put all his ideas about what the state needs to do into practice.
@30: Murray's replacement will be selected by the PCOs of the 43rd district. And if they move Pedersen up then they get to select who replaces him.
Because she's not a Dem she won't get the appointment. She would have to run against whoever is selected to fill out the remainder of the term...who will then have the strength of incumbency.
So rather than listen to the candidates and make up our own minds we're supposed to have the questions and answers filtered through the Stranger's team of McGinn apologists.
80% of the anti-McGinn people here are going to be hedging two years from now about their votes for Murray. What a hack. And quit already with saying McGinn has been soft on the cops. It is clear here that Murray's main law enforcement objective is just to get government off the back of the police union.
No surprises in the comments made by The Stranger. Cienna thinks Murray lost because she doesn't like the way he looks. Dom thinks his entire legislative record is horrendous and that he should own every attack made against him because debating McGinn is dirty and mean. Nothing McGinn could've said or done would've received criticism by either.
I was wrapped up in the Twitterverse (and the conversation on my own couch) throughout the debate, but it was a lot of fun to read your live-slog after the fact.
He's not glowering at people ...
Someone break out the Silly String for this borefest.

Can we get some true progressives like Brendan on this motherfucker instead of three Whores For McGinn?
No one is asking the hard questions.
Here's one, for $20.
Newlyweds, if you had to compare your spouse on your wedding night, to "density" would you say they were:
1) Walkable
2) Bikeable
3) Driveable
4) WHOOPIE-able
Damn missed a goal on the Murraycaps just barely
Part A
Subtext iii
Mr. McGinn or Murray, toss up:
If a person were taking transit, and their abode wasn't in a suitably dense part of town, and they made eye contact with a Benajmin Cumberbatch lookalike across the aisle and started a conversation, should they lie and say yes, you'd squeal if I told you the population density of my block or try and dance around the topic and reveal your age, saying, I bought a 125 sq. ft. condo before they were called apodments!
You may use a Lifeline!
And you broke the bold tag close
Hey Dom, close your tag. You missed the first
Because she's not a Dem she won't get the appointment. She would have to run against whoever is selected to fill out the remainder of the term...who will then have the strength of incumbency.
Keep up the great journalism, folks!
But there was a Sounders game.
Which we lost 4-1.
