The outage map at Seattle City Light looks like half of Seattle north of the ship canal is without power right now, and they expect to be out for most of the afternoon. I lost power, and left to go find someplace dry with wifi.
Over in Leschi - power was out for about an hour, but came back 15 minutes ago. A friend in Cap Hill said there was a big tree down at Thomas and 17th.
I was here for the 1992 Inaugural Day windstorm. 100 mph wind right in Seattle. The white picket fence on the house across the street uprooted and got blown down.
I was the last person eastbound across 520 during the Thanksgiving Day storm of 1983. Massive waves crashing over the side, and it felt like driving through a major earthquake with flooding. I wouldn't do that again, so be my guest schmacky - you've got more machismo than I do!
We drove to Bellevue via i-90 this morning and there was quite a bit of water on the roadway and some serious looking whitecaps. However the craziest part of the morning was later when we were driving through Auburn. We noticed a branch had fallen on the power lines and was burning and just as we drove past the transformer blew, followed by two more further down the road. This is one nasty wind storm.

This day officially sucks.

Did Richard Conlin use his nefarious powers to create a Weather Event to keep followers from those 1000 Rallies for Sawant?
