@3 He'd have to get beyond 340 or so to surpass Taft at his peak. Coincidentally, they're the same height.

But I don't think he'll ever get there. Taft had the benefit of serving well before the age of television, in a time where size was still oft-associated with wealth and power. Christie will probably try to slim down as much as he can before the major campaigning starts.

@5 - Also, don't be a giant dick to teachers, and don't say "you people" in pretty much any context. It is a very unflattering look.

Christie doesn't have to worry about teachers since Obama advocates similar anti-public school policies. Democrats would be hard pressed to point out Christie's attempts at privatizing public education.

Indeed, I deplore the expression "you people" and I'm a fan of Christie. Bad sentiment on his part. I hope he apologizes.

I vividly recall 92' presidential candidate, Ross Perot once addressing the NAACP (?) and indicating "you people" to his audience. I found it horrible if not flat out racist. I never liked Perot.

You're correct. No politician Christie, even Obama should ever address a constituent friend or opponent as "you people" no matter how much they are in disagreement. I reckon one can get away with it if one is retiring or has an election in the bag. Still, it just connotes separation. It is "we the people".

I'll bet he really wanted to flip her the bird but didn't want to insult the drunken Rutgers football fans.

He just seems like the most unpleasant person in the world.
