I see that Seahawk logo, and think of Seattle's namesake Chief Sealth. How his spirit and fellow Northwest Tribespeople must look at the hyper-urbanization of Seattle that has happened in the last 30 years, and be moved to depressive thoughts.

good grief. Goldy - you write the best stuff on politics in WA - but can't you just be happy about the nice airplane? Does everything have to be an opportunity to point out how awful everything everywhere is? Also - how does this relate to Kshama Sawant?

The Seahawks pandering is really getting on my nerves. During curtain call at the Seattle Opera's last performance, the cast put on Seahawks t-shirts and a 12th Man flag was hanging on stage. My bank apparently thinks that putting up a Seahawks splash page on its website is a good use of company resources. Shit like this really demonstrates to me what a second-rate city Seattle is.

I lived in New York when the Yankees were winning the World Series year after year, and none of this sort of shit went down there. It's almost like New Yorkers know that they live in a real city.
