Seems as though Slog disappeared when Goldie left. He was such a wonderful catalyst for intellectual sniffles.

@1 I think some of the "editorial disagreement" was related to more arts/music and less politics. Hence you have a button to get only arts and music Slog but no button for "no arts/music" Slog.

Who knows, maybe it's a move to push strangertickets further (as mentioned in this interview) and pull back on local politics.

@3 - Actually I believe it was more about Goldy's desire to call TNC's as he saw them (illegal) and The Stranger's reluctance to put themselves at risk when he did so.
